  • Patent number: 8178200
Abstract: A sport racket string includes a string which is a solid string and multiple recesses are defined in an outer surface of the string. The recesses include different sizes, depths and shapes, and are located in pre-determined ways such as lines so as to increase the friction between the balls and the string. The strings of the present invention are light in weight and allow the users to control the balls efficiently.

  • Patent number: 8163122
Abstract: The apparatus is a laminar shear resistant pre-impregnated resin tape for use in die forming pultrusion processes, with the tape formed by integrating three distinguishable layers, each with integrated parallel reinforcing filaments. The layers are arranged within the tape so that the filaments of adjacent layers are oriented at angles to each other. The tape of the preferred embodiment of the invention is constructed with the filaments of the center layer at 90 degrees to the length of the tape and the filaments of the two outer layers aligned with the length of the tape. The center layer can be more heavily loaded with filaments than conventional tapes, and the outer two layers have less than the amount of filament load of the center layer.

  • Patent number: 8137810
Abstract: A process for producing polyacrylonitrile-base precursor fibers for production of carbon fibers, which comprises spinning a spinning dope containing 10 to 25 wt % of a polyacrylonitrile-base polymer having an intrinsic viscosity of 2.0 to 10.0 by extruding the spinning dope from a spinneret by a wet spinning or a dry wet spinning method, drying and heat-treating fibers obtained by the spinning, and then steam drawing the resulting fibers, wherein the linear extrusion rate of the polyacrylonitrile-base polymer from the spinneret is 2 to 15 m/min. Carbon fibers which are produced by stabilizing-carbonizing treatment of the polyacrylonitrile-base precursor fibers and which have a strand tensile modulus of 320 to 380 GPa and a conduction electron density of 3.0×1019 to 7.0×1019 spins/g as determined by electron spin resonance.

  • Patent number: 8105688
Abstract: The present invention relates to an inorganic solid-phase combined powder, a master batch and a method for manufacturing the same, a fiber and a method for manufacturing the same. The fiber manufactured by the above method includes the following constituents in percentage by weight: 10-20% the master batch and 80-90% the high polymer carrier section. Silver content in the fiber of the present invention can reach up to 3-10%, the bactericidal rate is high, the blocking rate against ultraviolet ray is high, the efficacy is perdurable and safe, and there is no toxic or side effects. The spinnability of the fiber is good. The water absorption, permeability, dyeing evenness and electrical conductivity of the fiber are improved greatly, and the drapability and comfortableness are increased when the textile of the fiber is worn.

  • Patent number: 8029654
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a complex material in which an ion conduction film is curved and deformed when a potential difference is applied, which is operated at small electric power, has a large deformation amount, quick response performances, large degree of freedom in shape, and is easy in control of deformation, while having strength and durability necessary for practical use and being excellent in an economical aspect. A conductive cloth (preferably having stretchability), which is made conductive through plating of metal on a cloth or metal complex implantation, is joined as an electrode to both surfaces of the ion conduction film (the film in which an ion exchange film or ion liquid is immersed) made of a fluororesin and the like. When the potential difference is applied, the ion conduction film is deformed.
