Abstract: An information processing apparatus is provided that is configured to facilitate the avoidance of a state in which the browsing of a web page displayed in a main display area is hindered by the displaying of a sub display area. When a web page scrollable in a predetermined scroll direction is displayed in a main display area, the information processing apparatus acquires an arrangement position of a display element displayed in the web page, the arrangement position being a position in a crossing direction crossing the scroll direction, and determines an arrangement position in the crossing direction of the sub display area arranged at a position overlapping the main display area in accordance with the acquired arrangement position of the display element.

Abstract: Techniques for providing an in-place contextual menu and user interface for email and other information management system triage are provided in which a contextual menu can be overlaid or replace an item on a view screen. The contextual menu can provide action commands specific to the type and state of the items selected in the feature view of the email or other information management system. A single recognized selection input, such as a swipe gesture, selects an item and invokes an in-place contextual menu presenting actions that can be asserted on the selected item. Multiple item selection is available through the same invocation of presenting the in-place contextual menu.

Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for providing contextual or cognitive cues that link browser tabs together within a browser application. Browser tabs that are determined to be related to one another can be colored with a similar color. A similar color can be one in which a color property is modified so that the colors appear similar to a user. Relationships between browser tabs can be determined based upon whether a browser tab was created in response to following a link within a parent browser tab.

Abstract: Features are disclosed for efficiently maintaining information regarding content navigation history and state of a browser application. The browser application can use a portion of a client device's non-persistent memory that has been assigned a direct byte-for-byte correlation with a file in persistent storage, such as a memory-mapped file. The browser application can access, store, and update information in the memory-mapped file in non-persistent memory without being responsible for ensuring that updates are also reflected in the file stored in persistent storage. The operating system of the client device can handle the tasks of writing to, and reading from, persistent storage.

Abstract: A method and system for managing multiple displays, including receiving a first indication to allow movement of an object between a first display and a second display, allowing movement of the object between the first display and the second display in view of the first indication, receiving a second indication to prevent movement of the object between the first display to the second display, and preventing movement of the object between the first display and the second display in view of the second indication.

Abstract: A method for indexing a user interface test recording includes capturing, during a session, a recording of a plurality of interactions with the user interface, capturing, during the session, an event stream including a plurality of user interface events, synchronizing, in time, the plurality of interactions and the plurality of user interface events, identifying a point of interest in the event stream, wherein the point of interest is correlated to a time in the recording by the synchronization, and annotating the recording at a time correlated to when the point of interest occurred.

Abstract: A method and system for conducting a chat session with multiple chat members. The chat system receives chat comments from the chat members. The chat system attempts to identify a topic or subject of the chat comment. The chat system may then retrieve product or product category advertisements relevant to the identified topic. The chat system then effects the display of the chat comment along with the retrieved advertisements to each chat member. The chat system thus dynamically recognizes the topic of chat comments and displays relevant additional information along with the chat comments.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide techniques that enable a communication server hosting a virtual communication session to receive theme parameters from a remote server to control the look and feel of the virtual communication session. In one example, a method includes sending a plurality of video feeds for display at a plurality of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) of client devices coupled to a communication session. The communication session enables communication among a plurality of users of the client devices. The method also includes receiving a set of parameters of a theme to modify one or more visual properties of the GUIs. The method also includes sending the set of parameters to the client devices connected to the communication session to modify visual properties of the GUIs displaying the plurality of video feeds at the plurality of client devices based on the parameters of the theme.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for providing assistance to users in locating and accessing points of interest associated with particular time positions in the media items using the techniques described herein. For instance, an electronic device outputting a media item may select one or more metadata items based on a current output position in the media item. The electronic device may then generate and output a user interface including a progress bar that includes indicators representing the selected metadata items and output the user interface to a display of the electronic device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing Point Of Interest (POI) information in a portable terminal are provided. The method includes displaying an image mapped with at least one POI on a screen, sensing if the screen is touched in a closed curve shape, and displaying information on the POI mapped to an area within a closed curve of the displayed image.

Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein present topic-centric visualizations of collaboration data. An example method includes: obtaining a set of topics based on an analysis of collaboration data and displaying an interactive visualization that includes first UI elements that correspond to each topic (first UI elements corresponding to similar topics are positioned close together). In response to receiving a specified time period for the interactive visualization, the method includes: identifying a subset of the plurality of persons that are associated with the specified time period. The method additionally includes: obtaining a first set of connections between the set of topics and the subset and a second set of connections between related persons in the subset. The method further includes: updating the interactive visualization to include second UI elements corresponding to each respective person of the subset and visual representations of each connection in the first and second sets.

Focus information indicative of which of the set of scrollable areas is in focus within the environment is obtained. A visualization scheme is applied to each of the set of scrollable areas other than the scrollable area in focus. The visualization scheme adjusts at least one display property of each other scrollable area by each of a function of a relative position of each other scrollable area relative to the scrollable area in focus within the nested arrangement and a function of a relative distance of each other scrollable area from the scrollable area in focus.

Upon receiving a selection of an image to edit, the method displays the image in a display area for displaying edits to the image. At a first location, the method receives input to activate a UI tool includes the several UI tools. In response to the input, the method displays, at a second location, a fanning animation that fans the several UI controls from a fanned closed layout to a fanned open layout.

The cells within the sub-table are visible on the display device, whereas the cells outside the sub-table are not visible on the display device. In response to the data of a cell outside of the sub-table changing, such that the cell is not visible on the display device, an indicator is displayed in the cell of the sub-table that is visible that is closest within the table to the cell having the data that changed.

Abstract: Location-aware fitness monitoring program products, systems, and methods, and applications thereof, are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for providing information about an athletic activity includes the steps of displaying to a user via a computer performance parameter information regarding an individual's performance during the athletic activity as a function of time, and displaying to the user via the computer the title of a music track that was played for the individual by a portable fitness monitoring device during the athletic activity, wherein the display of the title of the music track occurs in response to the user specifying via the computer a particular point in time during the athletic activity.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for allowing a user to categorize, organize, and/or visualize content recommendations made by the user. Various interactive controls are made available to a user who recommends an item of content, where the controls are designed to allow the user to assign one or more attributes (e.g., characteristics, categories, labels, properties, etc.) to the recommendation. A user can also organize content recommendations into one or more categories that can be customized by the user according to subject-matter, content format, recommendation strength, and the like. The user is also provided with the ability to view his or her content recommendations arranged in various graphical representations.
