  • Patent number: 9948897
Abstract: The surveillance areas of cameras registered on a map having a surveillance region set thereon are projected onto the map. The shortest paths between the cameras registered on the map are searched for. Links between the cameras are determined based on the surveillance areas of the cameras projected on the map and the shortest paths between the cameras detected on the map. Unlike a conventional technique by which link information is manually acquired, this technique does not require a surveillance object to walk around so as to be actually captured by all the cameras, and can be applied even in a case where there is congestion in the surveillance region. Accordingly, the load on the user can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 9930360
Abstract: A video codec for encoding a sequence of video frames divides a video frame area into number of row segments. The Video encoder selects a different set of row segments in each video frame in a set of video frames and encodes the selected set of row segments by intra-prediction. As a result, the selected part of the frame is intra-refreshed. The video codec limits the maximum value of the vertical global motion vector GMVy to zero and video codec adjust the number of row segments in the select set of row segments based on the height of the search range configured for the motion estimation. As a result, the video codec may not refer to a un-refreshed portion in the previous frame for encoding an already refreshed area of the current frame.

  • Patent number: 9924202
Abstract: An image coding method using arithmetic coding. The method includes: performing arithmetic coding on a first flag that indicates whether or not an absolute value of a target coefficient in a target coefficient block is greater than 1; and performing arithmetic coding on a second flag that indicates whether or not the absolute value is greater than 2. In the arithmetic coding on the first flag and the arithmetic coding on the second flag, it is determined whether or not an immediately-prior coefficient block that has been coded immediately prior to the target coefficient block includes a coefficient having an absolute value greater than a threshold value. Based on a result of the determination, respective contexts to be used in the arithmetic coding on the first and second flags are selected.

  • Patent number: 9912936
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for adjusting stereoscopic image parallax and a stereo camera. The parallax adjusting method includes obtaining a depth range of a current scene. A preset parallax range may also be obtained according to a current viewing condition. Expected camera parameters of the current scene are calculated according to the depth range of the current scene and the preset parallax range. The stereo camera is adjusted according to the expected camera parameters and used to capture preprocessed stereoscopic images. Further, the captured preprocessed stereoscopic images are processed according to the expected camera parameters to make the preprocessed stereoscopic images suitable for being viewed under the current viewing condition. The disclosed method and apparatus can jointly adjust parameters of the stereo camera and captured stereo images to obtain images or videos with a maximum parallax as well as desired display effect under a specified condition.
