    Abstract: A concentric pulley drive assembly is disclosed as having a central pulley mounted to a motor axle and rotatably driven therewith by a drive motor. A partial pulley in the form of a partial annulus is positioned about a portion of the periphery of the central pulley concentrically with respect to the motor axle. A tape strip coupling the two pulleys transmits torque from the central pulley to the partial pulley to induce annular rotations of the partial pulley about the motor axle commensurate with the annular rotation of the central pulley. An antenna or sensor support platform is coupled to the extremities of the partial pulley for pivotal positioning about the motor axle in conjunction with the annular rotation of the motor axle.

    Abstract: A plurality of lock bolts are flexibly stacked in a frame at a lesser angle above the horizontal than the frame is slidably mounted in a rack and pinion jack-up rig's horizontal part. The steeper frame mounting angle reduces sliding friction by the vertical component of gravity. The flatter mounting angle of the lock bolts increases bolt locking efficiency that is a maximum at the horizontal. Free ends of the lock bolts project beyond the frame and are adapted to engage and disengage with the rack of the rack and pinion jack-up rig, the rack being oppositely mounted on the vertical part thereof. The frame is slidably actuated by an hydraulic cylinder pivoted to the horizontal part and the frame. The projecting free ends are roughly wedge shaped for engaging with the rack, and have arcuate lower engaging surfaces and flat upper engaging surfaces, the last of which extend from respective vertical abutments to define a steeper angle than opposing rack engaging surfaces.

    Abstract: The invention resides in an outside door handle assembly which comprises a door handle pivotably mounted on a door of an automotive vehicle; and a door latch operating rod having an end portion which is pivotably attached to an extension of said door handle after assemblying thereto. A pair of finger projections are made integral with the door handle arm. There is provided a channel-shaped metal bracket fixedly attached to a door panel and pivotably mounting said finger projections. An inclined groove formed on each of the finger projections generally opening towards the two limbs of the bracket and adapted for receiving partially these limbs when said door handle arm has been brought into its upper service position, thereby torsional deflexion of the bracket as liably occuring during the door-opening operation being prevented effectively.

    Abstract: A remote control apparatus for a vehicle rearview mirror including a control device disposed inside the vehicle and connected, by way of two transmission cables, to a mirror actuating device disposed inside the rearview mirror housing, on the exterior of the vehicle. The control device has a support member in which two transmission members are mounted for sliding in parallel and a control member pivotally and rotatably mounted to the support member. Each of the transmission members are connected to a transmission cable. One of the transmission members has a slot located in a place perpendicular to its sliding axis, in which slot is engaged one end of the control lever. The other of the transmission members has a slot inclined relative to the plane perpendicular to the sliding axis. A pin extends from the control member in a direction perpendicular to the one end thereof and engages the slot in the other transmission member.

    Abstract: An adjustable intermittent incremental advance system is provided having a rotatable shaft for driving a work take-off in a start-stop rotary incremental advance. A clutch disk and brake disk alternately permit or stop rotary motion of the shaft to provide the intermittent advance. A flywheel is attached to the rotary shaft and acts through a crank arm driven by a motor to provide rotary power to the shaft for predetermined incremental movement. First and second sensors provide timed application of the clutch and brake disks to provide accurate incremental advance and prevent accumulated error in length of advance during prescribed periods of operation of the system.

    Abstract: A breather passage is provided to perform breathing function for both two casings, one being a first casing housing therein a power-transmission means and the other being a second casing housing therein a gear-transmission mechanism. The breather passage is defined between interfacing surfaces of a main body and a cover those providing the second casing. A gasket is interposed between the main body and the cover so as to devide the breather passage into two passages. The breather passage has one end formed with a first breather hole opened to an atmosphere and the other end formed with a second breather hole opened to an interior of said second casing. The breather passage is further formed with a branch passage at the position rearward from said second breather hole to permit liquid communication between an interior of the first casing and the atmosphere.

    Abstract: The timing cam is advanced for switching purposes by the large reciprocating pawl acting on the ratchet teeth molded on the timing cam. When the program requires a timed period during which conditions remain the same the ratchet teeth are spaced so the pawl cannot pick up the next tooth until the cam is advanced by the small pawl acting on the separate ratchet provided with small, closely spaced teeth. This ratchet has a pinion gear driving the ring gear molded inside the timing cam. The steps imparted to the timing cam by the small pawl and ratchet are very small and consume appreciable time--the length of time taken to position the next tooth for engagement by the large pawl being determined by the space between the large teeth.

    Abstract: An electrical switch actuation mechanism is described. Principally useful for keyboard switch data entry devices, the mechanism operates by means of cammed surfaces to produce a generally nutating, rocking snap action. Depression of the key button moves a stem with cam surfaces on it which contact cammed surfaces on a rocking plate member. The action produces a first rocking motion in a first axis followed by second and third combined snapping and rocking actions about second and third axes in that plane, but at different angular orientations from the first action. A hypothetical vertical axis constructed through the plane of the rocking member will nutate or precess in a generally orbital fashion about a central pivot point. The motion of the plane of the rocking plate may be easily coupled to any of a variety of transducer devices be they contacts, capacitive, optical or inductive.
