  • Patent number: 10881845
Abstract: A sheath for producing a fully sealed access to the interior of a vessel of an animal or human body comprises a base sheath having a tubular body defining a pass-through channel. The base sheath is adapted to be inserted into the vessel through a vessel aperture. A wall of the tubular body of the base sheath has a through channel. This channel extends in the wall from the distal end towards the proximal end. The channel can be present separately from the pass-through channel of the base sheath or can form a sideways extension of the pass-through channel, at least at the distal end. Such through channel is adapted to conduct blood from the vessel to the proximal end of the sheath when the sheath has been inserted into a vessel.

  • Patent number: 10874524
Abstract: An expandable interbody device for use in the spine is configured to fit through Kambin's Triangle. The expandable interbody device can include a body defining a front end, a rear end and a plurality of sidewalls spanning between the front and rear ends, an expandable member pivotally attached to the body such that the expandable member pivots outwardly from one of the plurality of sidewalls and a screw threaded into the body through the rear end thereof. The expandable member defines an actuator flange that projects into the body. The screw abuts the actuator flange such that contracting the screw into the body causes the expandable member to pivot outwardly from the body.

  • Patent number: 10849631
Abstract: Instruments and surgical techniques may be used to correct a bone deformity, such as a bunion in which a metatarsal is misaligned with respect to a medial cuneiform. In some examples, a bone cutting guide is utilized to cut an end of the metatarsal and/or an end of the medial cuneiform to facilitate realignment of the bones. The cutting guide can have a pivotable cut guide surface along which a cutting instrument is translated to provide a precise bone cut. In some applications, after suitably preparing and aligning the bones, the bones are compressed together using a fixation pin. The fixation pin can be driven through one of the bones, into the second bone, and then further driven to compress the bones together.

  • Patent number: 10820930
Abstract: A bone plate having at least one variable angle locking hole is described. The variable angle locking hole allows a bone anchor having a threaded head to be driven into underlying bone while oriented at an angle with respect to a central hole axis of the hole that is within a range of angles at which the head is configured to threadedly mate with the at least one thread of the bone plate. Accordingly, the bone anchor can be driven into the underlying bone until the threaded head threadedly purchases with the bone plate inside the variable angle locking hole.

  • Patent number: 10813678
Abstract: A debris collection device includes first and second members that are moveable relative to each other between first and second configurations. In the second configuration, the first and second members interface with each other and define a restraint opening that is configured to receive an elongate element, such as a spinal rod. The first and second members while in the second configuration define a guide opening that intersects the restraint opening. Such guide opening is configured to receive a cutting tool, such as a conical burr, drill bit, mill or saw. The first and second members have walls that, when in the second configuration, collectively define an interior space that has a volume sufficient to collect debris created by cutting the elongate element through the guide opening. Methods of utilizing the debris collection device allow for cutting of a spinal rod or the like in situ while capture debris caused by the cutting procedure.
