Abstract: The present invention concerns a device and a method at the device, the device comprising a first interface to a first network comprising an adaptive streaming server, a second interface to a second network comprising at least one adaptive streaming client device, a stream identifier for detecting at least one streaming content requested by the at least one adaptive streaming client device, the at least one streaming content being available at more than one data rate, a bandwidth manager for selecting a data rate among the more than one data rate, a scheduler for transmitting at the second interface the at least one streaming content to the at least one client device at a data rate above said selected data rate but below any higher data rate available for said streaming content.

Abstract: The present disclosure disclosed a method and a system for precisely dispatching a request in a content delivery network (CDN), which comprises: a domain name system (DNS) authorized by a CDN of a target website receiving, from a local DNS of a terminal in which a client is located, an IP address of the local DNS and a domain name of the target website of service content requested by the client; finding, in a shared dispatching database, an address of an optimal CDN node server of the target website that is suitable for providing service to the client based on the IP address of the local DNS and the domain name of the target website, returning the found address to the client. The disclosed method and system are able to solve the issue of low processing efficiency in CDN caused by an increase in resolution time needed in a process of IP dispatching and the issue of address error during the dispatching.

Abstract: A personal computer executes a productivity application that communicates with a mainframe computer via a communications network. The productivity application configures the personal computer to retrieve datasets formatted according to a format associated with the mainframe and convert the data in the datasets to a second format native to the productivity application. While in the second format, a user may modify the data. If so, the productivity application configures the personal computer to convert the data back to the first format, update control fields in the data set, and send the modified dataset back to the mainframe.

Abstract: A distributed processing method is disclosed herein for evaluating student work product. The distributed processing system includes a server, a database server, and an application server that are interconnected via a network, and connected via the network to a plurality of independent processing units. The independent processing units can include an analysis engine that is machine learning capable, and thus uniquely completes its processing tasks. The server can provide one or several pieces of data to one or several of the independent processing units, can receive an analysis results from the one or several independent processing units, and can update the result based on a value scoring the machine learning of the independent processing unit.

Abstract: Presented herein are selective data content sharing techniques that enable multiple data content windows displayed at a computing device to be separately displayed within a teleconferencing system. In one example, a content analyzer server of a teleconferencing system receives a request from a computing device connected to a local teleconference endpoint to initiate selective data content sharing. The content analyzer server is configured to identify a plurality of data content windows displayed at the computing device for selective sharing at separate displays of the local teleconference endpoint and at separate displays of one or more remote teleconferencing endpoints. The content analyzer server is further configured to split a data content stream originating at the computing device into a plurality of separate data content streams, wherein each data content window identified for selective sharing has an associated separate data content stream.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for assembling a single content stream that enables downloading of a content collection using the single content stream over a network. During operation, the system obtains the content collection that includes a plurality of content components, and generates a manifest for the content collection. A respective entry in the manifest corresponds to a content component. The system assembles the single content stream by including the manifest followed by the plurality of content components. The manifest and the content components are packaged into objects under a same namespace, thereby facilitating a requester requesting one or more content components within the content collection using interests under the same namespace.
