Abstract: An information processor includes a read information obtaining unit, a conversion unit, an authentication information obtaining unit, and a conversion method setting unit. The read information obtaining unit obtains read information read from an authentication medium by a reading device. The conversion unit converts the read information in accordance with a predetermined conversion method. The authentication information obtaining unit obtains comparative-purpose authentication information to be used for a comparison with the converted read information. The conversion method setting unit sets, when the converted read information and the comparative-purpose authentication information match each other, the conversion method as a particular conversion method used to convert the read information read by the reading device.
Abstract: A color adjustment method includes a color adjustment step to obtain an adjusted CMYK value from an output CMYK value using a color adjustment table. The color adjustment table is to convert the output CMYK value into the adjusted CMYK value and created based on first and third tables. The third table is created based on: a CMYK value determined by C, M and Y values and a K value found from the C, M and Y values, the CMYK value having a proportion of the K value to the CMYK value larger than the proportion used when a second table is created; and a relationship between the CMYK value and the output color value for the CMYK value. This relationship is obtained based on a relationship between an input CMYK value and the output color value of the first table.

Abstract: An image processing device includes an acceptance section, an information acquisition section, a generating section, and an output section. The acceptance section accepts image data to be processed. The information acquisition section acquires plural pieces of information relevant to copy-restriction images and corresponding to plural kinds of copying devices configured to detect corresponding copy-restriction images. A target image is prevented from copying when a given piece of the information corresponding to a given kind of the copying devices and embedded in the target image is detected by the given kind of the copying devices. The generating section generates a formation-target image by embedding, in the image data, the copy-restriction images corresponding to the plural piece of information acquired by the information acquisition section. The output section outputs the formation-target image generated by the generating section.

Abstract: A system and method that provides a user interface on a mobile network terminal for operation with a printer resource access system wherein the user interface is modified for releasing a print job from a nearby printer resource. Since printer resources may include any number of print job release mechanism each requiring different authentication information, the user interface must be modified appropriately. The mobile network terminal obtains location information from a location service, such as GPS or an internet based location service, and provides the location information to a printer directory service in a printer resource access system. The printer directory service then consults the database of printer resource information and provides connection and configuration information for printer resource located nearby the mobile network terminal.

Abstract: This invention includes a file management unit having a moving image directory and a still image directory, a print file producing unit which produces a still image file under the still image directory as a print list, and a still image extraction unit which extracts a still image of a designated scene from a moving image file under the moving image directory. When a print list of designated scenes of the moving image is to be produced, the still image extracted by the still image extraction unit is recorded under the still image directory, and the still image is registered in a print list by the print file producing unit.

Abstract: A communication device includes a first tag data reading unit, a storing unit, an extracting unit, a display unit, and a transmitting unit. The first tag data reading unit is configured to read tag data from a wireless tag. The tag data is written in the wireless tag. The storing unit is configured to store transmit data and identification data in association with each other from the storing unit. The extracting unit is configured to extract, if the tag data corresponds to the identification data, the transmit data in association with the identification data. The display unit is configured to display contents of the transmit data that is extracted by the extracting unit. The transmitting unit is configured to transmit the transmit data displayed on the display unit to a destination device.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus prints print image data including both a duplex printing instruction and a simplex printing instruction while reducing or eliminating the development of a sheet interval. When it is determined that a print request includes both a duplex printing instruction and a simplex printing instruction, the maximum number N of transfer sheets that can be placed on a transport path is determined, and an order of output of print images is determined based on the maximum interleave number N. A blank sheet image is inserted in accordance with a switch timing from duplex printing to simplex printing.

According to one method, a content characteristic of a first image may be identified. Communication of the first image may be monitored to identify a communication characteristic of the first image. Abstract: Embodiments herein provide for a pre-processing stage or mechanism for enhancing data compression of an image by splitting or separating the color channels for pixels into planar data sources. Typically, image data is displayed as an interleaved set of channel types for a color space such that each pixel within an image (such as a bitmap) has one component for each color channel. By separating the interleaved bitmap into a planar representation, each plane can be compressed independently and often times achieve higher compression ratios. This is especially true for channels that are expected to stay fairly constant throughout the bitmap most of the time. The utilization of the above embodiment can be further enhanced through manipulation of channel data or through converting the color space from one form to another.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for configuring an imaging device is provided. A first imaging device may monitor communications exchanged between clients and imaging devices over a network to identify requests to process electronic documents. In response to the first imaging device either detecting a particular request, to process an electronic document, issued to a different imaging device than the first imaging device or receiving at the first imaging device the particular request to process the electronic document, the first imaging device may update its own current configuration for processing electronic documents. For example, an imaging device may update its own current configuration to reflect the most popular way in which electronic documents have been processed by imaging devices on the network.
