Abstract: Herbicidally active thiocarbamates are employed in combination with organophosphorothioates and -dithioates and -phosphonothioates, -dithioates and -trithioates, the latter in sufficient quantity to prevent soil degradation of the former. As a result, the herbidical effectiveness of the thiocarbamate is significantly enhanced and prolonged, rendering a single application of the herbicide effective over a longer period of time. Such herbicidal compositions can optionally contain a non-phytotoxic antidotally effective amount of an amide of haloalkanoic or dihaloalkanoic acid.
Abstract: The invention relates to new substituted dicarboxylic acid-bis(3,5-dicarbamoyl-2,4,6-triiodoanilines), of general formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 means a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl radical or R.sup.2, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different,R.sup.2 means a straight-chain or branched-chain C.sub.2 1.varies.C.sub.8 monohydroxyalkyl radical or polyhydroxyalkyl radical,R.sup.3 means a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl radical or R.sup.2,R.sup.4 means a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl radical, andn=1 or 2.The new nonionic compounds of formula I because of their good pharmacological and physiocochemical properties are outstandingly suitable as radiopaque substances in X-ray contrast media for use in all the fields of applications of X-ray contrast media.
Abstract: A method for reducing pesticide drift caused by crystallization of a pesticide from a pesticide spraying formulation. Crystallization of a pesticide from a pesticide spraying formulation is suppressed by incorporating an expoxidized vegetable oil into the formulation. The method increases pesticidal efficacy of a pesticide applied in the form of a pesticide spraying formulation. A pesticide spraying formulation is provided which comprises a pesticide, a diluent and an epoxidized vegetable oil.
Abstract: There are provided novel branched alkenylnitroguanidine compounds. A method for inducing cytokinin plant growth regulant activity in crop plants by applying to the crop plants certain alkyl-, alkenyl- and alkynyl-nitroguanidine compounds is provided.

Abstract: An environmentally compatible herbicidal composition comprises a fatty acid active ingredient, and a surfactant component. In one embodiment the composition comprises a ready-to-use microemulsion having a fatty acid active ingredient, one or more quaternary ammonium salt surfactants and water. Another embodiment comprises a concentrated herbicidal formulation having a fatty acid active ingredient and one or more surfactants. The concentrate may subsequently be diluted with water to yield a ready-to-use formulation. Each of these compositions is a foliar applied herbicide which effectively controls a variety of unwanted weed and grass species.The fatty acid component of these herbicidal compositions comprises pelargonic acid which may be used alone or as the predominant component of a mixture of fatty acids including caprylic, pelargonic, capric, undecanoic, and lauric.

Abstract: The flowering of broad-leaved trees, particularly fruit trees, is promoted by applying as a foliar treatment, a selected rapidly metabolisable gibberellin chosen from among gibberllin A.sub.4, C-3 epi-gibberellin A.sub.4, gibberellin A.sub.1, and salts and esters thereof.
