  • Patent number: 10743588
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices that may include components configured to convert electrical energy to heat and atomize an aerosol precursor composition. An outer body may at least partially enclose the components. An illumination source may be configured to output electromagnetic radiation. A wave guide may be configured to receive the electromagnetic radiation from the illumination source and illuminate the aerosol delivery device. The wave guide may define an increasing width from a first longitudinal end at which the electromagnetic radiation is received to an opposing second longitudinal end. Thereby, the wave guide may directly transmit the electromagnetic radiation across the entirety of the second longitudinal end to provide substantially even illumination at the second longitudinal end while employing less material and reducing the volume of space occupied by the wave guide as compared to cylindrical embodiments of wave guides. Related methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10746410
Abstract: A method and arrangement is provided for setting a peak operating power level for an oven having an oven compartment, a user interface, and a controller having a memory with a maximum peak operating power level stored therein. The method includes the steps of displaying an oven set-up user interface window on the user interface during an initial start-up of the oven; in response to an input for selecting a maximum output for the oven, displaying a maximum output user interface window on the user interface. Further, after input of a peak operating power level, the method stores the peak operating power level in the memory and selectively provides a power control signal to generate heat that corresponds to the peak operating power level. The oven is either an electric oven or gas oven. In operation, the oven heats at the peak operating power level, which is less than the maximum peak operating power level.

  • Patent number: 10730146
Abstract: A method and apparatus for removing material from a cutting insert is disclosed. A source of electromagnetic radiation produces a laser beam that passes through a aperture for truncating a dimension of the laser beam and a homogenizer for providing a cross section of the laser beam with a uniform energy density. A mask having a predetermined shape reduces the dimension of the laser beam, and an imaging lens projects the laser beam onto a surface of the cutting insert. The predetermined shape of the mask provides for selective adjustment of an amount of material removed from the surface of the cutting insert. In one embodiment, the mask has a shape of an isosceles trapezoid for producing a T-land surface at the intersection between a top rake face and the flank face of the cutting insert.
