  • Patent number: 11257143
Abstract: A method of simulating a virtual out-of-box experience of a packaged product with an electronic device is disclosed. The packaging of the product has a computer-readable code which is scanned with a camera on the electronic device. A product demonstration application is retrieved for the product from the internet. Surfaces of the packaging are recognized by the application. An image of a virtual representation of the product is rendered on an image of the packaging to make a combined image, which is displayed to the user on the display of the electronic device wherein the combined image simulates X-Ray vision into the packaging, revealing the product. The method further updates the combined image as the user manipulates the product in front of the camera, revealing different view of the product, a three-dimensional view of the product may further be displayed outside the packaging, and features demonstrated of the virtual product.

  • Patent number: 11250488
Abstract: Various embodiments attempt to predict items in a new product category that may be of interest to a particular user when the user has not interacted with or made purchases in that product category. In accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure, this is accomplished by training machine learning models, such as deep neural networks, using both the historical purchase data from the particular user as well as the historical purchase data from many other users to infer what new category of items the particular user might be interested in. In some embodiments, the previous purchase data of the other users are used to construct a graph, and the graph is used to train the machine learning model rather than the raw data. The graph can represent the entirety of the previous purchase data with less actual data, thereby requiring less memory and other computational resources.

  • Patent number: 11238513
Abstract: A virtual browsing experience may be implemented that allows a user to move a mobile device within a physical environment in order to control browser navigation to different items on an associated display. The virtual browsing experience improves the user's ability to recall where previously-viewed items are located in the virtual browsing environment. In some embodiments, a mobile device may determine its position and/or orientation in a physical environment, and when movement of the mobile device is detected, a user interface on an associated display may digitally navigate through multiple items according to the position and/or orientation of the mobile device. The position and orientation of the mobile device may be determined from position information or data obtained by a sensor device of the mobile device, and appropriate subsets of items can be determined for display based on detected movement of the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 11200616
Abstract: An electronic transmission method, device and system, and computer readable storage medium are provided. The electronic transmission method includes: receiving a first instruction for a target electronic file; after receiving the first instruction, dispatching the target electronic file from a first storage location on which it is stored currently to a second storage location, the network connectivity between the second storage location and a target terminal being better than the network connectivity between the first storage location and the target terminal; after receiving a second instruction for the target electronic file, transmitting the target electronic file from the second storage location to the target terminal. This method ensures that it will not be difficult for the target terminal to acquire the target electronic file in time due to poor network connectivity, which in turn improves the online transaction efficiency of electronic files.

  • Patent number: 11176514
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a system includes a processing system and tangible computer-readable media accessible by the processing system. The tangible computer-readable media may store software and purchase order identifications. Each purchase order identification indicates a respective one of a plurality of purchase orders, and each purchase order identification is globally unique with respect to each other. The software when executed by the processing system is configured to access a request comprising a first purchase order identification. The request had been generated at a client device that had decoded the one of the plurality of purchase order identifications from an optical scan of a code provided with packaging of one or more products of the respective purchase order indicated by the first purchase order identification. The software further generates data comprising information that facilitates returning at least one of the one or more products for receipt by the client device.

  • Patent number: 11127065
Abstract: Entities such as hotels, restaurants, resorts, houses, vehicles, and other places and things, are associated with images of each entity. The images are tagged using machine learning to identify what aspects of the associated entity are captured by each image. When a user is requested to select an entity from a set of entities, a user preference model is used to determine what tags the user is interested in. The tags are used to select images associated with the entities from the set of entities, and the selected images are displayed to the user. The user can then provide indicators that show which of the displayed images the user likes or dislikes. Based on the indicators, one or more entities from the set of entities is presented to the user. The model may also be updated based on the indicators.
