Patent number: 4574516Abstract: An outrigger or downrigger fishing clip comprises a U-shaped arm pivoted to a body to define a cavity between the arm and body in which is positioned a roller journaled in the arm so that a fishing line extending through the clip between the arm and body rides friction-free over the roller. Shrouds extend from the body over the roller ends to prevent a line from slipping over the ends of the roller and getting caught between the roller ends and the pivoted arm. A latch link spans the arm and body, extending through outwardly opening mating recesses in the arm and body and has a cam element engaging the free end of the roller of the shaft. The latch link is resiliently pressed against the body within the recess to provide a selectively adjustable force that resists pivotal release of the arm and of the tensioned fishing line entrained over the roller.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1985Date of Patent: March 11, 1986Assignee: AFTCO Mfg. Patent number: 4573284Abstract: A device for winding leaders, wherein the device will securely and protectively wind leaders of any length, regardless of whether the ends of the leaders terminate in hooks, swivels or loops. Separate leader winding recesses are provided which encircle the device. For leaders having leader lines with some elasticity, the leader is wound on the device under tension. Alternatively, for leaders having any type of leader line, whether elastic or non-elastic, the wound leaders are passed under tension over an elastic member extending about the periphery of the device, thereby deflecting the elastic member. The tension of the wound elastic leader line or the deflected elastic member maintains tension separately on each wound leader to keep it from tangling and to keep its ends securely anchored. Various anchor points for the hook, loop or swivel on the end of each leader, and different winding paths for each leader are provided to assist in winding leaders of any given length and any given type.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1984Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Inventor: Richard A. Patent number: 4573627Abstract: In order to ensure total bonding together of two-dimensional arrays of inm bumps on circuit boards, additional bumps are placed on each board in a triangular pattern which contains the array of that board. Opposing sets of thrusters are used to move the boards and their bumps toward each other, after the arrays are aligned with the boards juxtaposed and substantially parallel to each other. As corresponding sets of additional bumps touch each other, the set of thrusters moving the boards at those points hold their positions, until all sets of additional bumps are in touch; all of the thrusters of at least one board are then simultaneously energized until a predetermined pressure is achieved between the boards.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1984Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the ArmyInventors: Brian S.
