Abstract: An anti-infective medical article has chlorhexidine bulk distributed throughout a polyurethane base layer and may have a coating layer on the base layer. The coating layer may be chlorhexidine permeated into the surface or it may be an antibiotic, antithrombogenic agent or a polymeric surface layer laminated onto the base layer. The invention includes a method for preparing the article wherein a homogeneous melt of polymer and chlorhexidine is prepared by twin screw compounding and the melt is extruded to give a medical article having bulk distributed chlorhexidine.

Abstract: Stable sustained release wax- and polymer-coated drug-ion exchange resin complexes especially useful in preparing oral suspensions are disclosed.

Abstract: Synergistic insectidical mixtures containing at least one primary insecticide and a synergist therefor, the synergist having the formula ##STR1## X is O or S Y is O or SR.sub.1 =R.sub.2 and is aryl, substituted aryl, heterocyclic, or substituted heterocyclicR.sub.3 is H or alkyl, andR.sub.4 is an electron acceptor from the phenyl group to facilitate cleavage of the P-Y bond as exemplified by NO.sub.2, Cl, and NH.sub.2.Method of use of same is also disclosed and claimed.

Abstract: An antimicrobial water soluble substrate is formed by combining a silane, generically a quaternary ammonium salt form of a silane, with a water soluble powder selected from the group consisting of antiperspirant salts, starches, clays, and sugars. When the substrate is dissolved in water, the silane is released for redeposition.

Abstract: A stable homogeneous liquid antidandruff shampoo comprising about 0.10 to 2.0% by weight of 1-imidazolyl-1-(4-chlorophenoxy)-3,3-dimethylbutan-2-one (Climbazole) solubilized in an aqueous vehicle containing an acidic surfactant system of about pH 4 to pH 5.5 and further comprising a major amount of an anionic surfactant and minor amounts of either a nonionic, cationic, or amphoteric surfactant or a mixture thereof.
