Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and apparatus for upgrading a distributed storage system, and the disclosure relates to the field of distributed computer technology. In the disclosure, a client sends write requests regarding the same to-be-written data to a plurality of data servers at the same time; then how many data servers the to-be-written data is successfully written into is analyzed; it is determined whether the number of the successful writes is greater than a pre-defined number; and first feedback information or second feedback information is sent to each data server having a successful write according to the determining result. The data server then determines whether it is in an upgradeable state or a non-upgradeable state according to the received first feedback information or second feedback information. Based on the state of the data server, an upgrade control server may select to notify, in a rolling manner, the data server to perform an upgrade operation.

Abstract: A compute infrastructure interconnected with a network configured for allotting a benchmark message. The benchmark message comprises program code, or references to program code, to be executed on a reflecting entity. The reflecting entity is able to execute program code. The program code requests capabilities of the reflecting entity when being executed. The compute infrastructure is further configured for sending of the benchmark message to the reflecting entity. The compute infrastructure is further configured for receiving the benchmark message and for executing, in the reflecting entity, the program code. The compute infrastructure is further configured for providing a benchmark reply message. The benchmark reply message comprises execution time and optionally execution result of the execution of said program code. The compute infrastructure is further configured for returning the benchmark reply message from the reflecting entity.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing an alternate content delivery mechanism available to content-based network users. In one embodiment, the network comprises a cable television network, and subscribers are able to retrieve requested content from one or more other subscriber's storage medium and without going outside the cable network (or accessing the network core in any significant capacity) using a peer-to-peer (P2P) network protocol. Using this approach, bandwidth consumption is advantageously pushed out to the edge of the network from the core, also obviating content requests outside the network (e.g., to third-party servers on the Internet). Methods of operating the aforementioned P2P network, and various business paradigms relating thereto, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A universal service for objects (e.g., DICOM objects) and method for processing the same are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises: receiving, at a web service engine, a web services request from a remote web client for one or more Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) objects; generating a DICOM Message Service Element (DIMSE) request from the web services request, wherein generating the DIMSE service request includes parsing a modified base URL that includes information for a DIMSE service request, the modified URL being compliant with a standard that specifies a web-based service for accessing and presenting DICOM objects; sending the DIMSE service request to a server; receiving a response to the DIMSE service request from the server; reformatting the response to be compliant with the standard that specifies a web-based service for accessing and presenting DICOM objects; and returning the reformatted response to the remote web client.

Abstract: A method and device for managing sessions comprises obtaining first identification information of a first session of a plurality of sessions and group operation identification information of a group operation to be performed for the plurality of sessions, each of the plurality of sessions replicating, from a source of the session to a destination of the session, a file system or a management system that manages the file system; determining whether the first session meets a condition that a session is suitable to be selected as a managing session, the managing session managing the plurality of sessions to perform the group operation on the plurality of sessions; in response to the first session failing to meet the condition, obtaining second identification information of a second session of the plurality of sessions, the second identification information being different from the first identification information; and selecting the managing session based on the second identification information.

Abstract: A contextual navigational control for digital television is described. An apparatus, comprises a contextual navigation control interface (CNCI). The CNCI includes a first area that represents a plurality of cable television programs having a first level of relevance. A second area represents a first group of the plurality of programs having a second level of relevance. A third area represents a first subgroup of the first group having a third level of relevance. A fourth area represents a second subgroup of the first group having a fourth level of relevance. There may be additional areas representing additional sub-groups of relevance to the current viewing context.

Abstract: This disclosure enables various computing technologies for sharing various files securely and selectively between various predefined user groups based on various predefined workflows. For each of the predefined workflows, the files are shared based on a data structure storing various document identifiers and various metadata tags, with the document identifiers mapping onto the metadata tags.

Abstract: A mobile object communication system includes a mobile object side device, a service provision device performing a short range wireless communication with the mobile object side device to provide a service to the mobile object side device, and a wide area route provision unit performing a wide area communication with the mobile object side device to provide the service having the same contents as the service provided by the service provision device. The mobile object side device can perform both of the short range wireless communication and the wide area communication, and determines whether the short range wireless communication can be performed with the service provision device. When determining that the short range wireless communication cannot be performed, the service having the same contents is provided by performing the wide area communication with the wide area route provision unit.

Abstract: Described are systems, methods, and computer program products for facilitating user access to virtual reality (VR) containers. A VR container registry may identify any type of container and optionally list requirements for accessing the container, constraints relating to when access is permitted, characteristics describing container features, lists of other containers accessible from within the container, container output formats, accepted input formats, etc. The registry may be organized in a hierarchical structure, make use of or be comparable to a domain name system, and include one or more top-level items each having one or more second-level items organized beneath. A service provider may host a VR container to facilitate user access to other VR containers, allow users to transfer between unconnected remote VR containers while staying within a VR session or without having to exit all VR sessions, and provide transformation services to ensure container and VR system compatibility.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for user interface deployment that include a server with a cloud application and a client device with a client application. The cloud application is a fully functional application, such as a headless application, and transmits scene graph data including presentation data and behavior data for a first set of user interface elements viewable at the client device in a first operational state. The client application locally renders the first set of user interface elements on a client device display to locally render the portion of the scene graph related to the first operational state. In response to a user input, the client application transmits event or state data to the cloud application and may perform an action associated with the user input while awaiting receipt of updated scene graph data, possibly related to a subsequent operational state, reducing or eliminating the perception of latency.

Abstract: The system is a self-serve platform, which delivers user uploaded media and multimedia files, of varying playback duration, to a client computer connected to a digital display; which is set to receive executions for a scheduled playlist and punctually presents the playback of media and/or multimedia files in said playlist record. The system's included functions for schedule generation, schedule selection, and playlist creation contain unique, and embedded automatic functions, provide the capacity for making scheduling and delivery of media and multimedia files reliable, accessible, and cost efficient.

Abstract: A system and method for digital collaboration where a primary node and at least one secondary node are provided connected over a local area network, at least one computing device having a display output, and a control service, where each node is connected to at least one dedicated display device, and each node having at least two image buffers each image buffer having buffered content. For each node, the selection of which buffer content of an image buffer is displayed onto the dedicated display depends on a state variable of the control service.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, allocating, by a processing system including a processor, a first subset of resources to a first plurality of applications and a second subset of the resources to a second plurality of applications, wherein the allocating is based on respective statuses associated with the first plurality of applications and the second plurality of applications, and assigning, by the processing system, a respective bitrate to each application of the first plurality of applications, wherein the assigning of the respective bitrate to each application of the first plurality of applications is based on: a first threshold associated with a re-buffering of content, and a second threshold associated with the statuses. Abstract: A vision traffic marker network system includes a management system and a plurality of self-powered wireless traffic nodes configured to collect data from a wireless mesh network. Each wireless traffic node is configured to function as a mesh network traffic node and in each mesh network traffic node, the mesh network traffic node is configured to exchange data between the traffic nodes. Each wireless traffic node in the vision traffic marker system is communicatively coupled to any server and client machine. The management system includes a data acquisition layer, a processing layer, a communication layer, and a management layer. The acquisition layer is configured to receive data from the plurality of wireless traffic nodes and transmit the acquired data to the processing layer so that the acquired data is processed and filtered before the data is broadcasted and distributed the plurality of wireless traffic nodes which in turn exchange or share the data with any server and client machine.

Abstract: The embodiments herein push notifications to network devices used by a shared service to which a roaming host in a network fabric is subscribed. For example, a network fabric controller can access a VN policy table which stores the relationships between the virtual networks in the network fabric. Using this table, the controller can identify what shared service VNs (i.e., extranets) can communicate with the host's VN. The controller can push out notifications to the network devices used by the shared service VNs to store the new location of the host. That is, the network devices that locally store a location of the host can update their routing caches to point to the new location of the host. In this manner, the network fabric can reduce the time needed to reconverge on the new location of the host by updating the network devices used by the shared service VNs.

Abstract: A first network access point (NAP) of an Information Centric Networking (ICN) network may receive a request for a HTTP resource from a requestor. The first NAP may request the HTTP resource from a first server associated with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN). The first NAP may receive an error message that the HTTP resource is not available. The first NAP may publish a message to a rendezvous point (RVZ) including a list of excluded node identifiers (NIDs) of one or more NAPs that have not provided the HTTP resource. The first NAP may receive a forwarding identifier (FID) of a second NAP associated with the FQDN with a NID not on the list of excluded NIDs from a topology manager (TM). The first NAP may request the HTTP resource from the second NAP. The first NAP may receive the HTTP resource is and send it to the requestor.

Abstract: A method for sharing a video clip in real time, comprising the following steps: S1: when finding an interesting clip when watching a video by a viewer, directly selecting to share the clip in a playing interface; S2: sending a request to a video sharing service system by using a current moment as an end moment by a player; S3: accepting the request sent by the player and returning a playable address including a sharing number by the video sharing service system; S4: sending a sharing request to a social platform by the player, wherein the sharing request comprises the playable address comprising the sharing number that is returned in S3; S5: processing the sharing request in step S4 while notifying a person with whom a message is shared of a message by the social platform; and S6: accessing the playable address comprising the sharing number by the person with whom a message is shared.
