Abstract: A fixing bracket is described for joining wooden building components to each other and to a substrate, particularly of the kind used for joining boards used to cover balconies and decks outdoors. It is essential that the fixing bracket is a double angle consisting of two L-sections (2, 2?), having a double web (5) consisting of two section legs (3, 3?), whereby a fixing hole (9, 9?) is provided in the angle flanges (8, 8?). In an advantageous manner, the tongue-shaped spikes (6, 6?) are arranged near the upper edge of the web and are cut directly out of the web and bent out perpendicularly from the web.

Abstract: A lateral force resisting system includes a rigid structural panel and holdowns. A foundation bolt placement template may be used to locate and support the foundation bolts during fabrication of the foundation and to further secure the frame foundation interface. The rigid structural panel may be a vertical truss or a rigid structural frame with a wooden panel covering one side and interconnecting the members of the rigid structural frame. The wooden panel may be made up of multiple panes to tailor the response of the panel to the lateral force load. The holdowns secure the rigid structural panel to the foundation bolts and may be either a folded strap and pin embodiment or self-tightening.

Abstract: A multi-piece display device for the point-of-sale display of produce and other damageable items, manufactured out of a closed cell foam material and of solid construction, with each piece being a monolithic, flexible support block, whereby each of said support blocks has a top surface and is of a different size than each other support block, and with each said support block other than the smallest support block suitably adapted to support upon its top surface a smaller said support block, thereby allowing the device to be arranged into any number of configurations for the display of produce or other items. The foam construction of the device protects the items from damage while being light weight and easy to clean.

Abstract: A frame structure includes a first end wall having first and second ends in a top edge. A second end wall is spaced apart from the first end wall and generally parallel orientation relative to the first end wall. The second end wall has first and second ends in a top edge. A pair of side walls extend between the first and second end walls. The first side wall of the pair of side walls is connected at a first end to the first end wall first end and at a second end to the second end wall first end. A second side wall of the pair of side walls is connected at a first end to the first end wall second wall and at a second end to the second end wall second end. The end walls and the side walls define a base cavity. The pair of sidewalls have upper portions that extend a selected distance beyond the top edges of the first and second end walls. A first pair of slide mechanisms is mounted on the upper portions of the pair of side walls.

Abstract: A mounting system (10) for supporting a ceiling fan assembly (11) of the type having a motor, motor housing (46), a plurality of blades (47) and a downrod (29) to a ceiling C. The mounting system includes a mounting plate (14) having a plurality of tab locks (21), a mounting bracket having a plurality of locking tabs (37) configured to mate with the tab locks (21). The mounting bracket also has an opening (40) therein configured to receive a ball joint (31) of the downrod (29).

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for detachably fixing a surface component (16) to a background (18), especially a tile to a wall or on a bottom, whereby projections connected to the surface component when secured to the background and/or recesses engage with recesses connected to the background and/or projections, said recesses and projections being correspondingly embodied in such a way that they have deformable undercuts in the direction of the distance of said component from the background, the projections and recesses connected to the background being embodied on a forming film (4). Abstract: A compressible seal for a loading dock includes a pliable heat shield that helps protect the seal from concentrated heat generated by a truck's taillight being pressed against the seal. The seal includes a compressible foam core protected by a tough outer covering. The heat shield is preferably placed against the foam core, just underneath the cover. The shield reflects heat away from the foam and helps disperse the heat over a broader area to reduce the peak temperature of any hot spots.

Abstract: A panel for field erecting an assault course with the panel supporting a bullet retaining member on at least one face with the panel erectable on a base member and securable to similar or identical panels to form an assault course and a method for field erecting of the assault course comprising the laying of a base member on top of a terrain surface and then erecting a walled enclosure around the perimeter by positioning the panels on top of the base and then securing the panels to each other and to the base member with fasteners to form the assault course.

The ends of the band portion are connected by connection means to slideable hinge rings, each of the slideable hinge rings having a sufficient circumference so as to permit encircling of the trunk hinges.

Abstract: A system for mounting taxidermy animal trophies on mounting devices comprises a support platform having a rod protruding therefrom. The rod is a ribbed member having a large plurality of features for securing an animal mount, such as a skull, thereto. For example, the ribbed member may comprise a concrete reinforcement bar that may be sized in diameter and length according to the size of the mount. The rod uses the natural occurring or existing hole or holes in the back of the skull for support thereof. The rod may extend straight from the support platform, such as for wall mounting purposes, or may comprise a bent portion at a distal end thereof for surface display of the mount.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides for a method of placing a concrete structure in a generally horizontal position. The method includes building the concrete structure in an essentially vertical position, the concrete structure being defined by a first end. The concrete structure is pivotably supported at a support location proximate the first end while the concrete structure is in the essentially vertical position. The concrete structure is then pivoted about the support location to move the concrete structure from the essentially vertical position to the generally horizontal position.

Abstract: The patient positioning aid assists a caregiver in rotating and positioning immobile patients. Such patients require periodic movement to prevent the development of ulcers. Conventional methods use rolled blankets or pillows to support such patients. Such improvizations are often crushed by the patients, especially by bariatric patients. The present invention has a strong resilient foam core which resists compression by a patient, yet also has a yielding surface foam layer which avoids trauma to the patient's skin. The cover is removable for cleaning, waterproof, and utilizes an anti-slip, high friction coating on the bottom which resists sliding on the bed. In addition, handles on the caregiver side of the aid assist in the maneuvering of the aid to position it properly.

Abstract: A laminated shingle has a rendered shadow design when placed with other similar shingles on a roof deck. The laminated shingle includes an overlay member and an underlay member fixedly attached to each other. The overlay member includes an upper or headlap portion and a lower or exposed butt portion with one or more tabs separated by cutouts. The overlay member is also coated with a layer of relatively dark granules to form horizontally-oriented overlay shading areas on the upper and lower edges of the tabs. The underlay member is coated with a layer of relatively dark granules to form vertically and horizontally-oriented underlay shading areas. In one embodiment, one or both vertical edges of each tab are generally parallel to the vertically-oriented longitudinal axis of the vertically-oriented shading area to expose a portion of the shading area.

Abstract: A blower support device for use on a utility vehicle includes a generally horizontally oriented platform and a vertically oriented support member. A mounting channel is provided and extends laterally away from the vertical support member for pivotably mounting the support stand to the mounting post for pivoting movement of the support stand between an access position and an operational position. A remote throttle control is also provided.

Abstract: A book holder for supporting and protecting an article of reading material is provided. The book holder includes a spine, a pair of cover panels, each of the cover panels is hingidly to the spine permitting the pair of cover panels to be rotated into an open position and to be rotated into a closed position. The book holder is adapted to receive and support an article of reading material in an open position when the book holder is open and for enclosing and protecting the reading material when the book holder is closed. A page holder assembly is provided to hold the reading material open and for marking a page. The page holder assembly can also include a line marker for marking a line of text in the reading material. In additional embodiments, an illumination means for illuminating the reading material and a magnify sheet for magnify the reading material may be provided.

Each of the separate legs has a first portion extending in an angle outwardly from the receiving area and a second portion extending from an end of the first portion opposite the receiving area. The second portion extends vertically downwardly or inwardly from the end of the first portion. The first portion has a length substantially greater than a length of the second portion.

Abstract: An anchor system for attaching a series of structural members to a wall comprises an elongate horizontal track and a plurality of anchor plates. The horizontal track has a pair of spaced apart sidewalls defining therebetween an upwardly facing channel with a restricted opening. The anchor plates each include an enlarged head portion, nailing plate and a relatively narrow strap extending between the head portion and the nailing plate. The head portion is sized to fit within the channel and engage the sidewalls to retain the anchor plates at selected longitudinal positions. The strap is sized to pass between the sidewalls to position the nailing plate normal to the track for attaching a structural member thereto.
