    Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided to analyze a dual wall structure having at least one hollow core therein and having the same unknown material sound velocities in walls and in post as well. A transducer is located in at least two different positions with respect to the structure, whereby the transducer propagates an ultrasonic wave toward the dual wall structure. A portion of the ultrasonic wave is reflected back to the transducer. One wave traverses a portion of the dual wall structure that has a core filled with a medium having a known material acoustic property. A second wave traverses a portion of the post that has an unknown material sound velocity. From time of flight measurements of the above mentioned waves, the wall thickness and core shift, if any, can be determined.

The method includes the steps of: (a) determining hoop strength as a function of relative wall thickness; (b) determining Wall Thickness Ratio (WTR) by dividing a nominal wall thickness of the original conduit by the minimum wall thickness of the expanded conduit; (c) determining long-term hydrostatic strength by at least one of hoop testing and burst testing; and (d) applying an accelerated regression analysis to the results in step (c), yielding a Hydrostatic Design Basis (HDB). The resulting HDB may be plotted against WTR to provide the user with graphical data for use in making design decisions and choosing specific conduit for specific applications.

    Abstract: An apparatus, a method, and a computer program product are provided for identifying signals in analogue electrical systems. The ID select signals that control the timing of this signal identification circuit comprise sequential numbers that count up and identify a corresponding signal. The signals to be identified are located on a group of input/output (I/O) pins. One multiplexer (first) selects a specific I/O pin in response to the ID select signals. An isolated voltage source is connected to this multiplexer and provides the selected signal to another multiplexer (second). The second multiplexer switches from this isolated voltage source to ground potential in response to the ID select signals. The isolated voltage source floats at the DC level of the selected I/O driver pin. Therefore, by connecting to the selected signal's I/O pin and the output of the second multiplexer, the selected signal can be identified and then probed.
