Abstract: A hair coloring composition, and a method for using the composition in which a natural plant-derived chemical of the formula ##STR1## is employed as a coupler-modifier in a composition containing a primary intermediate and a customary coupler. The novel coupler-modifiers produce a composition which is more physiologically suitable for use in hair colorings than the prior art compositions and allows for the preparation of compositions which produce highly stable colorings over a broad range shades and tones.

Abstract: A composition for the oxidation dyeing of keratinous fibers, in particular of human keratinous fibers such as hair, with at least one 5-substituted 3,4-diaminopyrazole as an oxidation base, in combination with at least one meta-aminophenol halogenated at the ortho position of the phenol as a coupler, as well as a method of dyeing using this composition with an oxidizing agent.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the bleaching of fabrics with liquid compositions comprising a peroxygen bleach and a solvent system comprising a hydrophilic solvent and a hydrophobic solvent. These compositions deliver improved stain removal on a variety of stains including bleachable stains, greasy stains, enzymatic stains and mud/clay stains.
Abstract: The present invention provides a firm, mild, good performing, low-smear semi-solid or solid dishwashing product. The rheology of the dishwashing product is such that structural elements have been separated from functional elements to obtain best structure properties and in-use properties. By using an interlocking mesh of carboxylic acid and/or neutralized carboxylic acid fibers and/or platelets to provide a support structure, the semi-solid or solid dishwashing product can be loaded with superior performing dishcare materials (e.g., mild surfactants) and appearance enhancers without dependence on surfactant-water phase behavior to provide the support structure. As a result, the present dishwashing product is milder than semi-solid dishwashing products currently on the market. The support structure of the present product, and preferably the use of hygroscopic surfactants, provide a product with lower smear than current gel dishwashing products.

Abstract: A process for making a coated bleach component which may be incorporated into a detergent composition comprising hydrogen peroxide solution. The process includes the steps of dispersing the bleach component in a continuous liquid phase to form discrete islands of dispersed phase and subsequently forming a polymeric coating at the interface between the dispersed phase and the continuous phase. The coating formed is resistant to hydrogen peroxide solution and is removable when the liquid continuous phase is diluted with aqueous wash liquor. In this way particulate material which reacts with hydrogen peroxide can be incorporated into an aqueous detergent liquid which contains dissolved hydrogen peroxide, whilst maintaining stability.

Such textiles can be readily prepared using a wet finishing process to covalently attach a hetercyclic N-halamine to a cellulose based material or other polymeric material. Once prepared, the textiles of the present invention have a broad spectrum of biocidal activity against pathogenic microorganisms. Moreover, the biocidal activity of such textiles can be regenerated by washing with a halogenated solution.
