Abstract: Systems and associated processes for guiding users to provide more useful reviews are described. These systems and processes can provide guided reviews in certain embodiments by presenting questions to a user in the form of an interview. The questions can be relevant to the item being reviewed, and as such, may be specifically and dynamically selected based on the particular item under consideration. Many other criteria may be used to select the types of questions presented to users, examples of which will be described below. Presenting review questions to users can have the effect of reducing or eliminating the “blank page” effect of having to write a review from scratch, with no guidance. Accordingly, review questions can potentially elicit more thorough and useful feedback than existing review systems in some embodiments.

Abstract: In accordance with various exemplary embodiments, solar energy shade structures and methods of design and revenue generation are disclosed. These systems comprise structures capable of supporting solar panel at heights greater than 18 feet above their mounting surface. These systems may be installed in confined spaces. These systems also comprise structures that are customizable, allowing an installation to be configured with a desired lighting and environmental effect. The methods discussed herein describe processes for achieving desired design effects based on natural elements. Moreover, the methods discussed herein describe processes for reducing the costs of generating solar energy and/or reducing the costs of providing a solar structure.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for determining a value of an element, having a k-th rank. The method discloses: calculating a total number of elements in a first and second dataset; prohibiting parties from accessing each other's dataset; ranking the elements within each dataset; computing a total number of elements in the datasets each having a value less than a test value; computing a total number of elements in the datasets each having a value greater than the test value; and setting the value of the element, having the k-th rank, equal to the test value, if the total number of elements having values less than the test value is ? the k-th rank minus one, and the total number of elements having values greater than the test value is ? the total number of elements minus the k-th rank. The system discloses means for practicing the method.

Abstract: A system for functional domain based information technology selection and replacement is provided. Applications for each of multiple entities are associated with a set of functional domains. The set of functional domains are associated with a set of ecosystems. Data is complied for each ecosystem. Applications are adopted for one entity associated with an ecosystem, for each ecosystem, based on compiled data.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for collaborative and integrated intellectual property management are provided. The method includes defining a sequence of phases for an intellectual property management model. The phases are defined by task-based components in conjunction with a workflow component and a messaging component. The task-based components specify a sequence of tasks implemented for achieving a desired outcome for a respective phase and also specify at least one of a resource and a role assigned to implement one or more of the sequence of tasks. A portion of the task-based components interact and share information with others of the task-based components via the workflow component and messaging component, thereby integrating operations between respective task-based components and phases. The method also includes applying the intellectual property management model to a set of inputs associated with data corresponding to a request to protect a proposed idea or concept.

Abstract: An Internet based real estate transaction and release tracking system that insures deeds of trust, liens and other encumbrances are released in a timely manner after the lien holder has received payment for the underlying obligation. Based on information provided by an agent, such as an escrow agent or a settlement agent, the system creates a unique electronic record for each real estate transaction entered by the agent. The system receives update information, either automatically from other computers or via manual input from searchers, and uses this update information to track each real estate transaction. The system monitors the records and indicates when a lien holder has failed to release their lien after a statutory time period that begins after the passing of the settlement date. When the statutory time period has passed, the system generates a number of forms, including a demand letter. The demand letter is sent to the lien holder demanding them to release the lien.

Abstract: A custom postage has an artwork region and an adjacent cancellation region that includes a meter mark. The artwork region contains an original image having a top edge adjacent to the cancellation region. The custom postage may be placed onto an item of mail with a delivery address thereon, with the custom postage oriented to the upper right of the delivery address and with the image in a vertical orientation relative to the delivery address. The custom postage may be offered for sale as a fundraising effort, optionally via a website. The website may also include a social citizenship program and/or it may promote literacy.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for designing business content for reporting tools. In one general aspect, the invention provides for receiving a user selection of a business object having associated attributes and displaying a view of the attributes. A user selection of one or more of the attributes is received, indicating the selected one or more attributes are to be displayed in a report generated in the external reporting application. The selected one or more attributes are added to a business content structure. Data associated with the business content structure is retrieved and an output file is generated. The reporting application can use the output file to generate the report that includes the business content structure and the data associated therewith. The business content structure can be stored in a database and later retrieved to generate an output file, allowing a report with current data to be generated by the reporting application.

Abstract: The system refers a prospective customer to one or more prospective dealers. It identifies those dealers closest to the customer and gives preference to those with which the customer has had a previous relationship. A database stores customer contact information and information related to dealer locations. Using a computer, the prospective customer is prompted to enter some personal information. A database query checks for matching data in the customer contact database. A search of the dealer locations nearest to the customer is then performed. Results are combined and the display recommends at least one dealer location, giving preference to those locations where there has been a prior relationship.

Abstract: A computer-based method for administering performance of a contract uses a server accessible by multiple performing parties through a data network, such as the Internet. The method includes receiving performance data at the server from at least one of the performing parties through the data network. The performance data indicates an amount of work performed under the contract by the performing party, and may further include an amount of materials stored. A payment amount is determined based on the performance data. A schedule of values associated with performance of the contract may be initially stored, so that determining the payment amount is further based on comparing the performance data with the schedule of values. The payment amount is sent from the server to other performing parties through the data network. The other performing parties may be notified by an email indicating, for example, that the payment amount has been approved.

Abstract: A method for evaluating a potential claim using a computerized platform is presented. The method comprises the steps of receiving into the computerized platform information relating to a potential claim. Specifically, that information relates to a value of the potential claim, a likelihood of success of the potential claim, and a cost of asserting the potential claim. The method further comprises the steps of calculating an estimated claim valuation based upon the information relating to a potential claim using the computerized platform, and presenting that estimated claim valuation to a user.

Abstract: A method and system that captures and delivers customized souvenir images to a plurality of attendees at a sporting event, music concert, and the like. Individuals wanting to receive a copy of these images provide location information, such as their assigned seat number. The present invention uses this information to identify the proper image and deliver it to the customer. Embodiments of the present invention may be adapted for use in a kiosk and to deliver the picture over a computer network, such as the Internet.
