  • Patent number: 5643018
Abstract: A terminal for waterproof connectors is provided which includes a receptor portion. The receptor portion comprises a bottom plate and lateral walls provided upright on opposite sides of the bottom plate. A slanting insertion guide surface extends from an intermediate height of a front end of each lateral wall to a retreated front end of the bottom plate so as to provide a cutaway portion therebelow. The terminal for waterproof connectors does not give damages to an insertion hole in a waterproof stopper when passed therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5638968
Abstract: An extension assembly fits between a tubular container of a baby bottle and a nipple end cap. The assembly includes a container body attached to the nipple end cap and having an internal chamber and a lower attaching structure connected to an upper open end of the tubular container and a release mechanism to control access by water in the tubular container to food material in the container body. The mechanism has a lower annular funnel sloping from an annular outer edge to an annular inner edge which defines a central opening aligned with the upper end of the tubular container. A central stopper structure supported by a lower open end of the container body is movable toward and away from the annular funnel structure as the container body moves within a sleeve extending upwards from the annular funnel structure. This movement prevents and permits access by water in the tubular container to the food material in the container body.

  • Patent number: 5634539
Abstract: A box-like luggage item, such as a trunk, has panels forming ends, sides, top, and bottom of the box. Extruded strips having coves therein receive and grip edges of the panels in order to form the panels into the box-like structure. The box-like structure has a lid and a body with some of the extruded strips having a single cove for receiving a lower edge of each side of the lid and other extruded strips receiving an upper edge of each side of the body. Each of these extruded strips contains an area of a predetermined cross section for receiving an arm of an L-shaped bracket having the same predetermined section which strengthens and aligns the corner of the frame. This ability to align corners enables an elimination of a prior art practice of first installing a strip, cutting a notch in the strip, and then removing the notched material in order to mount hardware.

  • Patent number: 5630521
Abstract: A wheeled upright luggage case is disclosed. The best embodiment of the case has wheels to allow the case to stand upright in a stable and balanced position without attendance by the user. The case has a wheel handle to allow the user to push or pull the case across a supporting surface. The case may be pushed or pulled on either four wheels or two wheels. When four wheels are used, the full weight of the case and its contents are borne by the wheels, relieving the user from having to bear with her arm any of the weight of the luggage. The body of the case is designed to have a specific range of tilt angles from the vertical; by tilting the body of the case toward the user, the design of the case improves the stability of the case while it is pushed across a supporting surface on four wheels. Various case body configurations and push handle arrangements are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5626285
Abstract: An otherwise conventual paperboard blank for forming a gable top carton is provided with a cutout at a bottom corner of the first sidewall forming panel of a five panel blank. The bottom portions of the blank are conventionally folded to form a carton bottom end closure. The sideseam panel is tapered at one end due to a previous skiving operation. After localized heating of certain panel surfaces and upon folding the blank to initially form a tube, with the sideseam forming panel overlying an edge portion of the first panel (conventional procedures), the cutout coincides with the removed portion of the sideseam panel which forms the tapered end, to thus prevent unwanted adhesion between the first panel and the second panel.

  • Patent number: 5622255
Abstract: An improved garment-bag and hanger, used by travelers to organize, store, secure, and transport garments between various locations. The "SuitFolio" is a portfolio for either suits or dresses, resembling an artist's portfolio in design and function. The overall book-like concept for the "SuitFolio" enables each garment to be stored and accessed on one single `Page` in a manner similar to that which an artist would store and present their artwork via their portfolio. The uniqueness of the "SuitFolio" lies in its innovative, built-in hanger-system, which floats freely within a page-like covering, and is attached to the inside shell of the "SuitFolio" by means of spiral binding; thus enabling each `Page` to turn without complication. In addition, garments stored and transported within the "SuitFolio" are folded in a longitudinal manner, unlike conventional garment-bags, which fold garments in the unnatural, latitudinal fashion; thereby facilitating undesirable wrinkling of such garments.

  • Patent number: 5599214
Abstract: A structure is provided whereby an insertion hole in a waterproof stopper is prevented from damage upon pulling a terminal out of an electric connector of a waterproof type. A terminal lug includes an electric contact section, a wire connection section and a joining portion through which the lug is joined to a terminal carrier. In the condition where the wire connection section is crimped on a wire, the cut joining portion is offset to a position closer to the central axis of the lug than the bottom plate portion of the wire connection section so that both ends in a width direction of the cut lug are located inside a contour formed by, and axially extended from, the wire connection section.
