Patent number: 9822440Abstract: Employed is a roller-type continuous vapor-deposited film forming device in which a film-forming section and a preprocessing section provided with a plasma preprocessing device are arranged in series at a distance from each other. With a substrate transported at a high speed, plasma (P) is supplied to the substrate surface side while set to an electrically positive potential by a plasma preprocessing means for supplying the plasma toward the substrate (S) in a space enclosed in a preprocessing roller, and enclosed in a plasma supply means for supplying a plasma-forming gas and in a magnet (21), which is a magnetism formation means. An active preprocessed surface is formed on the surface of the substrate (S). An inorganic oxide vapor-deposited film having as a principal component thereof an aluminum oxide containing AL-C covalent bonds is immediately formed at high speed in succession on the preprocessed surface of the substrate to produce a highly adhesive transparent vapor-deposited film.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2013Date of Patent: November 21, 2017Assignee: DAI NIPPON PRINTING CO., LTD.Inventors: Shigeki Matsui, Tatsuo Asuma, Teruhisa Komuro, Hiroshi Miyama, Takakazu Goto, Kaoru Miyazaki, Hiroshi Matsuzaki

Patent number: 9822500Abstract: The invention pertains to pavement marking patterns and the application thereof to roads, streets, walkways and the like. Various pattern marking designs replicate bricks, cobblestones, horizontal signage, logos and other components. The marking patterns are composed of two or more independent sections, the first section is a grid representing for example, the mortar joints in a brick wall. The second sections or inserts, for example represent bricks which are contained within the grid. As the first and second sections are generally formed from different colored, preferably thermoplastic materials, a hot melt adhesive spray is utilized on the bottom surface of the marking pattern bridging the intersections between the first and second sections, maintaining the integrity of the marking pattern for convenience during handling and application to a substrate. Preferably the hot melt spray adhesive has approximately the same softening point range as the pattern sections for heat treatment during application.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2015Date of Patent: November 21, 2017Assignee: Flint Trading, Inc.Inventors: Robert W. Patent number: 9816264Abstract: A water vapour-permeable building sheet material, that may be adhered in overlapping relationship against a building structure, includes a water vapour permeable membrane having first and second opposing surfaces, wherein the surface energy of the second opposing surface is less than 35 mN/m; an adhesive layer that is vapour permeable, applied to the first face of the membrane; and an adhesive region applied to the second opposing surface. Two segments of the sheet material may be placed in overlapping relationship so that adhesive in the adhesive layer applied to the first face of the membrane of one of two segments adheres to the adhesive region applied to the second opposing face of the other of the two segments to form a substantially air impermeable boundary between the two segments, when overlapping, preventing lateral migration of air between the two segments. A building envelope may be so formed.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2013Date of Patent: November 14, 2017Assignee: Ewald Doerken AGInventor: Marcus Jablonka

Patent number: 9740096Abstract: In microelectronic applications, it is often desired to deposit and pattern a permanent dielectric film in order to electrically and mechanically isolate components. Photo-patternable dielectrics are attractive for these uses because of their reduced time and cost requirements. These permanent dielectrics should be high-speed, positive-tone, and aqueous-developable. This type of patternability may be achieved by using a chemically amplified deprotection reaction of tert-butoxycarbonate or tert-butyl acrylate catalyzed by a photo-inducible acid.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2013Date of Patent: August 22, 2017Assignee: Georgia Tech Research CorporationInventors: Brennen Karl Mueller, Paul A.
