  • Patent number: 11431878
Abstract: In a case where a sample color is outside a color reproduction range of an image forming apparatus, there arises an issue that an adjustment target color cannot be brought close to a user-desired color. An image forming apparatus includes a generation unit configured to cause a printing unit to print a plurality of colors close to an acquired sample color and generate a color conversion table based on a user-selected color among the plurality of printed colors in a case where it is determined that the acquired sample color is outside a color reproduction range of the image forming apparatus, whereas in a case where it is determined that the acquired sample color is not outside the color reproduction range, the generation unit generates a color conversion table without causing the printing unit to print the plurality of colors close to the sample color.

  • Patent number: 11423506
Abstract: A digital watermarking system and method for embedding information in and extracting information from content items, such as video signals, are described. In a method for encoding or embedding information in a content item, a content item including a plurality of frames is accessed in which each of a number of elements within the frames is associated with an inter-frame difference measure representing changes in the element between two frames. Information for embedding in the content item is accessed. Symbols of the information are embedded in the content item by manipulating the inter-frame difference measure of a selected element through a number of frames using an algorithm and the information. The information is used by the algorithm to control the manipulation. The manipulated content item is output as a watermarked content item having the information embedded therein.

  • Patent number: 11410335
Abstract: A method includes obtaining first color information for each of a plurality of first samples of a first target color with a color measurement device connected to a computing device including a display. A digital color image of at least one first target color is displayed on the display. An offset value for each first target color is determined such that the digital color image of each first target color matches the corresponding first target color on each of the first samples. A second sample including a second target color is scanned to obtain second color information. A processor of the computing device determines, using the offset values of the first target colors, an interpolated offset for the display such that the digital image of the second target color matches the second target color.

  • Patent number: 11410263
Abstract: A method for transforming an input array of pixel data into an output array of data, to yield enhanced expression of a digital watermark signal in the output array. One such method includes, for each pixel in the input array, generating a first datum that indicates a value difference between said pixel and a neighboring pixel in a first direction, the first data thereby collectively comprising a first directional difference array. Similarly, for each such pixel in the input array, generating a second datum that indicates a value difference between said pixel and a neighboring pixel in a second direction, the second data thereby collectively comprising a second directional difference array. One or more transforms to a spatial frequency domain are then performed, using these first and second directional difference arrays as input data. First and second results from the one or more transformations are then combined to yield an output array.

  • Patent number: 11367159
Abstract: In an illustrative embodiment, watermark decoding reliability is increased, for images of watermarked objects captured at close distances, by reducing influence of pixel noise (e.g., shot noise). In the same or different embodiment, watermark decoding reliability is increased, for images of watermarked objects captured from far distances, by reducing image under-sampling. A particular implementation down-samples input imagery twice—a first time by a fixed factor, preparatory to performing an FFT, and a second time by a variable factor, preparatory to submitting the image for decoding, where the variable factor is determined using results from the FFT. A number of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

  • Patent number: 11363171
Abstract: A color table is modulated. The color table includes a plurality of nodes, and each node corresponds with a color input in the first color space and provides a print output in a second color space. The set of the plurality of nodes are arranged in a vector of a first color perception parameter. The vector can be arranged according to an order of increasing second color perception parameter in the first color space to an end node of the set of the plurality of nodes. A node in the set of the plurality of nodes that provides a peak amount of the second color perception parameter on the medium is determined. The print output for the end node is replaced with a print output corresponding with the node that provides the peak amount of the second color perception parameter on the medium.
