  • Patent number: 11265180
Abstract: Techniques for concurrent node startup are provided. A first startup instruction is received by a first node of a plurality of nodes, and the first node enters an initial startup state. The first node further transmits a first ping to the plurality of nodes, and determines, based on the first ping, that none of the plurality of nodes are in an active state or in a secondary startup state. Upon determining that no additional pings have been received, the first node enters the secondary startup state. Finally, the first node enters the active state, where the first node enters the active state as an initial node in a new cluster.

  • Patent number: 11223708
Abstract: A system having scalable sockets to support User Datagram Protocol (UDP) connections identifies a plurality of UDP connections, wherein a plurality of remote clients connect to corresponding ones of the plurality of UDP connections. Each one of a plurality of UDP sockets is associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of UDP connections. A network stack lookup for UDP packets in network traffic is performed using a network stack to identify the UDP socket corresponding to the remote client associated with each of the UDP packet. The UDP packets are buffered with a send buffer and a receive buffer for the UDP socket corresponding to the remote client associated with the UDP packets as determined by the network stack lookup to support communication over the plurality of UDP connections using the plurality of UDP sockets. The system thereby operates more efficiently and/or is more scalable.

  • Patent number: 11142871
Abstract: A vehicle management system communicates with monitor devices coupled with a path control device at an intersection between route segments. The path control device switches positions to connect different combinations of the route segments. The system receives signals from the monitor devices to determine which of the route segments are coupled with each other and receives an authority signal from a travel authority system that indicates which of the route segments that the vehicle is authorized to travel. The system directs the vehicle through the path control device responsive to a combination of: (a) receipt of the authority signal and (b) receipt of at least one of the monitor signals or failure to receive one or more of the monitor signals.

  • Patent number: 11115335
Abstract: The present technology relates to an information processing device and an information processing method, in which streaming traffic can be subjected to a load dispersion by using a broadcast network. An information processing device processes a request of contents, to be transmitted from a plurality of receiving devices, and dynamically switches return through communication and return through broadcast, as a return path of a response with respect to the request, on the basis of first identification information for identifying a broadcast area capable of being received by the receiving device, and second identification information for identifying the contents, the first identification information and the second identification information being included in the request, and thus, streaming traffic can be subjected to a load dispersion. The present technology, for example, can be applied to a dedicated server (a switching server) provided on a server backend side.

  • Patent number: 11102300
Abstract: Determining an optimal path through a storage area network from a specific initiator to a specific target includes determining a plurality of possible paths through the storage area network between the specific initiator and the specific target, examining a plurality of previously-determined latency values for each of the paths, the previously-determined latency values being set according to empirical observation of propagation through each of the paths, and choosing a specific one of the paths having a lowest latency value. The previously-determined latency values may be determined by sending a command from the specific initiator to the specific target. The command may avoid queuing any I/O operations at the specific target. The command may be a status request command or a vendor specific command. The source may be a host system and the target may be a storage system. The previously-determined latency may be measured using a PowerPath Management Appliance.
