    Abstract: To solve problems in a conventional cap opening apparatus wherein it is uneconomical and requires a large storage space to prepare dedicated cap opening apparatus to open the caps of various cans and bottles sealed by different systems and, in a conventional cap opening apparatus having cap opening functions for different applications at both ends of a single output shaft, when one of the functions is set to develop a proper capacity, the other develops an excessive or a sufficient capacity. This cap opening apparatus comprises a speed changing portion 50 having a gear train for matching the output of a motor to the purposes of a plurality of output shafts and an output power changing section for the gear train. Since the speed changing portion transmits optimum torques to the output shafts 133 and 140 and can selectively drive only one output shaft through the output power changing section, safety can be increased.

    Abstract: A wrench for tightening threaded male and female pipe nuts includes a wrench gear rotatable within a housing and having a nut slot so that the wrench gear can be engaged upon one of the nuts. A pair of pinion drive gears engage with gear teeth of the wrench gear at spaced apart locations on the periphery so that at least one of the pinion drive gears is engaged with the wrench gear at all times during rotation of the wrench gear to tighten the one nut. A nut holding plate has a nut slot and is mounted on the housing by a pin and slot arrangement so that the nut holding plate can shift to enable the nut holding plate to be engaged upon the other nut and hold the other nut stationary while the wrench gear is rotated to tighten the one nut.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a corkscrew (1), of the first-class lever type, designed so that once the screw (3) is driven into a cork (10) that is fully inserted into the neck of a bottle (12) and that free end (8) of short fulcrum (5) is placed on the bottle lip (11), a single hand (14) can hold the bottle neck (12) and the free end (2?) of the lever (2) simultaneously. A squeeze of one hand (14) will bring the free end (2?) of lever (2) against the bottle neck (12). The cork (10) is now raised an initial distance from its original position. The operation is repeated using long fulcrum (6) whose free end (9) is placed against the bottle lip (11). In this second position the free end (2?) of lever (2) and the bottle neck (12) are again within range of being grasped with one hand (14). A second squeeze of the hand (14) now moves the cork (10) the rest of the way out of the bottle neck (12).

    Abstract: A multipurpose multi-surface scraping tool to facilitate removing gum, grease, wax, and other such materials from the surface of carpet, grout, tile, concrete and the like. The tool has an ergonomically correct, lightweight handle with a replaceable scraper blade removably attached thereto. The handle may be formed from aluminum, plastic, or another lightweight material. The scraper blade is typically formed from stainless steel or another, wear resistant material and has scrapping teeth disposed on an outer edge thereof. The scraper blade is removable from the handle to allow re-sharpening or replacing. The opposite end of the handle structure is configured as a wrench for loosening and tightening jets on a carpet cleaning wand. The wrench may be an open end or box configuration. The combination of the scraping and wrench functions allows an operator to carry only one tool to perform frequently required operations in the course of cleaning a carpet.

The bead guide plate is turned toward a bead part of the tire at a non-mounting side of the tire while being interlocked with a turning of a tire bead press roller, and thereby the bead guide plate turns ahead of the tire bead press roller so that the bead part of the tire at the non-mounting side of the tire slides on a surface side of the bead guide plate to be mounted on the wheel.

    Abstract: A tool for completing the mounting of a bicycle tire onto its rim that is superior to those provided by the tools of the prior tire irons. The use of a tool is usually required to complete the job of mounting a bicycle tire to its rim due to the high tension developed in the bead of the tire at that stage. The present invention does not rely on a levering arrangement at all, but instead employs a traveling inclined plane to progressively lift the tire bead to a height above the rim's edge, and a downwardly sloped incline to allow the so lifted bead to then slide down into the rim's interior. The invention utilizes the flange, or rim sidewall, of the wheel rim for both support and guidance as it is impelled forward on the rim by impacts on its trailing surface from an object suitable for the function, such as a hammer. A slot is incorporated into the invention to receive the wheel's flange.
