  • Patent number: 7275407
Abstract: A process for producing a hollow monoblock shaft from a pipe, the pipe initially having a constant diameter and a constant wall thickness, and the monoblock component including at least one area of its length being of a smaller outside diameter and a greater wall thickness than the constant diameter and constant wall thickness of the pipe. The process can be carried out simply and economically by the following process steps: selecting a pipe with a wall thickness which corresponds to the smallest wall thickness of the finished component, partial heating of at least one area of the pipe, axial upsetting the heated area of the pipe and radial forging the heated area of the pipe.

  • Patent number: 7254974
Abstract: The present invention is a bending machine for bending material such as steel to form cutting dies for products such as cloth, leather or the like. Coiled material is fed through a material washer, straightener and printer by a material feeder to a bending head. If required the material is forwarded through the bending head to a heating unit and retracted to the bending unit to aid in bending. A nicking tool is also provided ahead of the bending tool to nick the material. The nicks enable the cutting die to cut notches in the product being cut. A support surface at the output end of the machine supports the material as it is bent into the required form.

  • Patent number: 7251979
Abstract: A method of producing a forged part includes holding a material by a jig, upsetting the material, held by the jig, to a predetermined length by a pair of upsetting dies disposed on both ends of the material, while pressing the upsetting dies on the material, so as to produce large-diameter portions at the respective axial ends of the material. Next, a bending operation and a forging operation are made to the upset material, in that order. When forging, a direction, in which the material is forged, is set, so that a burr generated on the material by upsetting is included in a burr generated on the material by forging. Next, a finish-machining operation is made to the forged material to remove the burr left on the outer periphery of the material after forging. Thereafter, the finish-machined material is drilled to form bush-mounting holes in the large-diameter portions.

  • Patent number: 7243525
Abstract: A hand rivet squeezer with adjustable handles includes a riveting head body, and C-shaped anvil yoke and stationary and lever swing-arm handles attached to the body. A mechanical linkage inside the body converts pivoting forces applied to the lever swing-arm into axial forces applied to a plunger pushing it from inside the body into the C-shaped yoke. The preferred mechanical linkage is a rack-and-pinion type design or alternatively a cam between the lever swing arm and the plunger. The handles are adjustable such that their angle relative the rivet head body can be varied depending on the access available around a solid rivet to be installed. The handles are engaged or locked to the body but may be unlocked or slidably disengaged and pivoted up to 90 degrees relative the body.
