  • Patent number: 6196595
Abstract: A coupling arrangement for coupling a working implement to a working machine and being of the kind in which the two coupling parts are mutually connected both mechanically and hydraulically with no manual handling of the coupling arrangement. The machine-mounted coupling part has a drive means for moving associated hydraulic coupling connection means into coupling engagement with hydraulic coupling means on the implement-mounted coupling part, when coupling the machine and implement. The hydraulic coupling connection on the implement-mounted coupling part is movable in the direction of maneuvering movement of the hydraulic coupling, and is moved by the drive means via the hydraulic coupling connection on the machine-mounted coupling part until coming into abutment with an abutment means on the machine-mounted coupling part. The arrangement includes springs that function to exert a pressure that is opposed to this movement.

  • Patent number: 6179341
Abstract: A quick connector coupling comprises a hollow connector body and a male tube received and secured in the connector body. The male tube has a radially enlarged upset. A retainer is disposed in the connector body and has an inner base ring through which the male tube extends. The retainer also has compressive members which abut a shoulder formed in the connector body to secure the retainer in the connector body. The compressive members extend towards the base ring and terminate before reaching the base ring to define a space between the compressive members and the base ring. The upset is captured in this space thereby securing the male tube in the connector body. A chamfer is formed in the base ring to provide tolerance for a wider band of male tube dimensions.

  • Patent number: 6173994
Abstract: A coupling assembly comprising a female connector body, a male member, a retainer and a dust barrier. The female connector body defines a bore extending axially inward into the connector body from an entrance. A radial face is defined in the bore axially inward of the entrance. The male member is received within said bore. The male member is formed at the end of a tube and includes a projection extending radially from the tube. The retainer has at least two locking beams extending between the radially extending projection and the radial face to retain the male member in the bore. The locking beams defines a slot between the locking beams. The dust barrier is slidably mounted on the tube. The dust barrier has at least one extension insertable within the slot so as to prevent inadvertent radially inward movement of the locking beams. Wherein upon sliding the dust barrier toward the female connector body, the dust barrier encloses the bore so as to prevent foreign material from entering the coupling assembly.

  • Patent number: 6173998
Abstract: A plug-in coupling connects two fluid conduits, one of which has a retaining rib. The plug-in coupling includes a sleeve having radial openings. The coupling also includes an arresting device displaceable within the sleeve. The arresting device has retaining arms. A free end of each arm is hook-shaped for engaging behind the retaining rib. Each of the free ends has an outer inclined face. When the sleeve and arresting device move apart, the inclined face presses against a front edge of the opening that receives the hook. When the arresting device and fluid conduit are pulled apart, an inner inclined face of the hook presses against the retaining rib. In an unlocking position, the outer inclined faces of the hooks are sufficiently spaced from the front edge of the respective opening so that the retaining arms may spread radially apart to permit decoupling. The arresting device also has resilient unlocking arms. An outer part of each one of the unlocking arms projects through one of the openings.
