    Abstract: An electric connection structure is provided for electrically connecting an automobile instrument, such as a speedometer or tachometer, and a flexible wiring plate disposed on a body casing. A male connector, which houses terminals connected to the coils, is provided on the inner mechanism side. A female connector, which accommodates a strip portion of the flexible wiring plate having a conduction portion, is provided on the side of the body casing having the flexible wiring plate at the rear surface thereof. A wiring plate pressing member for pressing and retaining the strip portion is inserted in the female connector from the rear surface side of the meter casing. When the male and female connectors are engaged, the terminals directly contact the conduction portion of the flexible wiring plate.

    Abstract: An abutment rib of a first connector portion compresses a coil spring, mounted in a second connector portion. If the connector is released prior to complete and proper electrical connection, the connector portions are moved away from each other to visibly and clearly indicate an incomplete or inadequate connection. When the connector mechanism is properly fitted, retaining projections of lock arms positively engage retaining holes in a hood portion, thereby maintaining the connector portions in a locked and properly fitted, electrically connected condition against the bias of the coil spring urging the abutment rib. Therefore, only when the connectors are properly and completely fitted together, and are prevented from withdrawal, is a proper electrical connection indicated and achieved. The connector mechanism clearly indicates an electrically-connected condition, thereby preventing a half-connected condition.

At least two spaced-apart connectors each include a housing and a plurality of terminals mounted on the housing. A plurality of conductive wires have first ends respectively attached to the terminals and extend from each connector in the connector raceway toward the other connector. A printed circuit board is mounted in the connector raceway between the connectors and includes circuit traces thereon. Second ends of the conductive wires are electrically secured to the circuit traces. Therefore, one connector is electrically coupled to the other connector through the circuit board in the connector raceway.

    Abstract: A terminator cap and system for using the terminator cap is provided for protecting a standard coaxial cable port from atmospheric conditions and from unwarranted tampering. The cap is a hollow cylinder with one enclosed end. The terminator cap is dimensioned to slip over one end of a connection jack connector, the other end of which has a plurality of attachment fingers dimensioned to fit over the connection jack. The swagging shell is used to firmly hold the terminator cap to the connection jack connector and firmly hold the flared fingers of the connection jack connector to the connection jack. A locking shroud is attached to the connection jack such that the locking shroud surrounds the connection jack, the connection jack connector, the terminator cap and the swagging shell.

The two parallel rows of solder-bearing leads will straddle and resiliently hold a substrate between them to improve accuracy in soldering during solder re-flow. The entry apertures may accommodate a substrate with contact pads.

    Abstract: An electrical contact for use in a connector between mutually opposed electrical interfaces comprises a generally planar contact body having first and second major faces. The body includes a pair of spaced apart spring arms connected by a resilient bight. Respective shorting sections extend from each of the free ends generally toward each other. The shorting sections are offset from each other such that the first major face of one shorting section is coplanar with the second major face of the other shorting section. Upon deflection of the spring arms relatively closer together, the coplanar major faces of the shorting sections come into mutual engagement, whereby a shortened electrical path is formed between the contact noses.
