Abstract: An information handling system includes a transmission queue and a media client module. The media client module is in communication with the transmission queue. The media client module receives a disk command, stores a first number of packets in the transmission queue in response to the disk command, and transmits the first number of packets to a server associated with the disk command. The media client module also receives a restart message, stops transmission of the first number of packets in response to the restart message, calculates a delay between burst of packets and sets a second number of packets based on the restart message, stores a second number of packets in the transmission queue, and transmits the second number of packets to the server.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for updating the system configuration settings of a computer system. Embodiments include a remote system configuration system that enables a user to update the system configuration of a target machine from a server machine over a network or similar communications system. Another embodiment includes a system configuration method using a bus master device to write system configuration data into a target computer system.

Abstract: The network for multimedia control comprises User Interfaces, Session Controllers and Media Endpoints as functional entities for initiating a session, the entities having each publisher and/or subscriber functionality and communicating on topics. The network is in particular a Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS) network and the entities act as Domain Participants of the DDS network for providing multimedia signalling control as a domain of the DDS network.

Abstract: In activating a service, a service gateway retrieves a service table entry using a service or server address of the service entry, where the service table entry has an association with another service entry. An association to the service entry is added and a marker value is set to indicate associations with two service entries. After a time duration, the association with the other service entry is removed, and the marker value is changed accordingly. In deactivating a service entry, the service gateway calculates a hash value for the service or server address of the service entry. After matching the hash value to a hash value of another service entry, an association with the other service entry is added. A marker value is set to indicate associations with two service entries. After a time duration, the association with the service entry is removed, and the marker value is changed accordingly.

Abstract: A device may identify an amount of data corresponding to a user device of a plurality of user devices associated with an account with a shared data amount. The amount of data may include an amount of data that is available for use by the user device and that is not available for use by other user devices of the plurality of user devices. The shared data amount may include an amount of data that is available for use by all of the plurality of user devices. The device may determine allocation information that identifies a portion of the amount of data available to the user device that is allocated for use in association with an application. The device may determine data usage information that identifies an amount of data used in association with the application. The device may determine data status information and may provide the data status information.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and articles of manufacture for distributing communication of a data stream among multiple devices are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein include receiving a request from a first one of a plurality of devices to establish a shared connection to distribute communication of a first data stream among the plurality of devices. Such example methods also include establishing, in response to the request, respective data connections with the plurality of devices based on device capability information obtained from a system providing service for the plurality of devices. Such example methods further include splitting the first data stream into a plurality of partial data streams to be communicated to the plurality of devices via the respective data connections, the partial data streams, when aggregated, forming the first data stream.

Abstract: Disclosed is a media sharing system that provides shared experiencing of licensed media content such as movies. The system includes a web server that communicates with multiple client devices over the internet whereby a user's multiple social contacts can participate in a synchronized stream of licensed media content such as movies. The system is able to schedule the multi-user experiencing of the licensed media content and further synchronize the streaming of the licensed content so the participating users receiving the media streams in a substantially synchronized manner. The system still further provides for social content interaction amongst the multiple recipients so that the multiple users can interact in a time-contextual manner consistent with the substantially synchronized receipt of the licensed media content.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system including a social client and an intermediate server. A social client may be implemented as a mobile application or embedded as a component of a hosted application. The social client may include features/functions for a user to follow, tag, post, and/or comment on a case, a topic, user(s) concerning the case and/or topic, post(s) tagged to a topic, case(s) tagged by the user, or a combination thereof. The intermediate server may serve as an intermediate between backend system(s) and social client(s). For example, the intermediate server may receive a work order from a backend system, place the work order in an event stream and/or a work folder for the user, mark the work order as in-process when the user completes work, and return the work order to the backend system. The backend system may then mark the work order as having been completed.

Abstract: Provided is a service provision in a multi-tenant environment which includes determining, by an outsourcing service augmentation platform, that an event has occurred within a tenant instance. Authorization credentials needed to access the tenant instance are provided to the platform. Further steps can include identifying a type of the event and processing the event. The processing includes determining that data corresponding to the event is needed from the tenant instance, requesting the data from an application programming interface (API) corresponding to the tenant instance, receiving the data from the tenant instance, and executing actions within the platform based on the data, the type of event, and a configuration of services defined for the tenant instance.

Abstract: A sub-process is performed on a first computing platform to create a portable initialized object. The portable initialized object is communicated to a second computing platform. The second computing platform uses the portable initialized object to replace performing the sub-process.

Abstract: A social analytic system may identify the social signals associated with a brand, campaign, or any other topic. The social analytic system may generate a vocabulary associated with the brand, campaign, or topic based terms used in the associated social signals. The vocabulary may be used for generating social media analytics and identifying social media events, such as marketing campaigns. In one example, a vocabulary may be compared with vocabularies associated with different constituents to identify the positive and negative terms in the vocabulary.

Abstract: A globalization management system for managing resources of multiple interrelated data sources corresponding to a plurality of sites through a communications network is provided. The system includes a plurality of target application interfaces respectively coupled to the interrelated data sources through the network. Each interface includes systems for converting a protocol of the respective data source to a predetermined protocol, and the predetermined protocol to the protocol of the respective data source. The system further includes a global management engine coupled to the plurality of target application interfaces. The engine includes a site-to-site relationship manager, a system for reading current content data from the interrelated data sources, a system for comparing the current content data with prior content data, and a project manager for transferring the data identified as a content change to at least one subscriber site.

Abstract: In certain example embodiments, jukebox systems that have associated video servers for displaying video content on one or more displays or groups of displays external to the jukebox and/or directly on the jukebox are provided. Such video servers may effectively off-load at least some of the video processing load from the jukebox device. Accordingly, video content may be provided to complement and/or further enhance the interactive experience that jukeboxes currently provide, while also enabling patrons not directly in front of the jukebox to participate in the interactive process. Content may be distributed to the jukeboxes and/or video servers via a network. In addition to creating a compelling entertainment experience for patrons, it also is possible to create new revenue opportunities for customers. For example, operators and national account customers and advertising partners may provide additional value to venues through the innovative use of managed video content.

Abstract: A social networking system facilitates a user's creation of a group of other users from among the user's connections in the user's social network. The created groups may be used, for example, to publish information to certain user-defined groups or to define privacy settings or other access rights to the user's content according to such user-defined groups. When a user adds connections to a group, the social networking system determines suggested connections that have not been added to the group, based on a similarity of the suggested connections with one or more of the connections who have been added to the group. These suggested connections are then presented to the user to facilitate the creation of the group. Both positive and negative feedback may be used to generate a useful set of suggestions, which may be updated as the user further defines the group.

In addition, the method includes displaying, on a screen in communication with the data processing hardware, a user selectable link for each recommended application. Each user selectable link is associated with an application access mechanism that has a reference to the corresponding recommended application and that indicates a performable operation for the corresponding recommended application.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for allocating services among a plurality of service operators where each capable of providing at least one service and each service operator operating a respective computer to receiving at a support server a request for service from at least one computer being operated by a user, generating a questionnaire to be answered by the user operating the at least one computer, selecting at least one service operator based upon the answered questionnaire, and establishing a service session between the at least one computer being operated by the user and the computer being operated by the at least one selected service operator for providing the requested service.

Abstract: An information handling system (IHS) network includes a switch IHS that coupled together a plurality of server IHSs. A source software-defined (SD) virtual appliance is located on one of the plurality of server IHSs. A destination SD virtual appliance is located on one of the plurality of server IHSs. An SD network controller is located on at least one of the plurality of server IHSs. The SD network controller is configured to receive a data traffic flow identifier and policy information that is associated with at least one data traffic flow policy from the source SD virtual appliance. The SD network controller determines a plurality of ports located between the source SD virtual appliance and the destination SD virtual appliance using the data traffic flow identifier. The SD network controller then configures each of the plurality of ports using the at least one data traffic flow policy.

Abstract: A system and method for network driven automatic adaptive rendering impedance are presented. Embodiments of the present invention are operable to dynamically throttle the frame rate associated with an application using a server based graphics processor based on determined communication network conditions between a server based application and a remote server. Embodiments of the present invention are operable to monitor network conditions between the server and the client using a network monitoring module and correspondingly adjust the frame rate for a graphics processor used by an application through the use of a throttling signal in response to the determined network conditions. By throttling the application in the manner described by embodiments of the present invention, power resources of the server may be conserved, computational efficiency of the server may be promoted and user density of the server may be increased.

Abstract: A tenant-based distributed computing environment management system includes a service that is executed on a computing system to allocate a subset of the resources for use by each of a plurality of tenants, and generate a plurality of tags for each resource in the subset in which each tag includes tenant information associated with the tenant to whom the subset of resources are allocated. The service may then identify, for at least one of the tenants, the subset of resources allocated to the tenant, and transmit information associated with the identified subset of resources to a computing device of the tenant.
