    Abstract: A removable and portable single pickup unit for stringed instruments such as guitars, and the like. The unit can be mounted inside of a sound hole of an acoustic guitar without damaging the guitar. The unit can combine inputs from three different pickups(such as a magnetic sensor, vibratory transducer, and a microphone) into a single small housing. The unit can include a pre-amplifier and circuitry within the unit along with three rotatable rheostat type control knobs for each of the pickups, and an overall volume control knob that are easily reachable to the user's fingers while the fingers are on the strings. An output cable connects the unit to a single external amplifier or three individual amplifiers for each of the three different pickups.

A correction value for computing a position from the outputs of the resolver arithmetic processing I/F circuit 34 and the resolver arithmetic processing I/F circuit 36 is computed from the obtained differential.

    Abstract: A constant-current driving method and a driving circuit for a DC motor are provided. A DC motor is often used for a DC fan. For a DC motor having two magnetic coils, the constant-current driving method is implemented by employing two control voltage signals to respectively control two semiconductor switches that are respectively connected to the two coils. One terminal of each coil is connected to a same high DC voltage, and one terminal of each semiconductor switch is connected to a same low DC voltage. The two semiconductor switches do not turn on at the same time. When each semiconductor switch is turned on, the current flowing through the coil connected to the switch eventually approaches and remains at a constant value. The constant-current driving method is especially suitable for producing low-rotation-speed and low-current DC motors.

The electromagnetic device, for example an electromagnetic motor, is coupled to the stage such that at least one coil is coupled to the frame and at least one magnet is coupled to the foam core structure of the chuck. The multiplexer receives signals from each of the plurality of the switches, and it is configured to repeatedly perform a process of selecting one of the received signals and outputting the selected signal. The count register is connected to the multiplexer to receive the signal output from the multiplexer, and it counts a number of the signals corresponding to the electrical connection of the switches of the rain droplet detector and outputs a counted value. The wiper control unit controls a speed of a wiper based on the counted value.

    Abstract: Temperature of the disk drive is measured using components of the disk drive without the need of including a separate temperature sensor to optimize performance of the spindle motor during startup. To measure temperature, the resistance of the VCM winding is measured and used to estimate the spindle bearing temperature. Back emf is measured from VCM windings and used during startup to accurately determine actuator position. Because the VCM coil resistance varies significantly with temperature, coil resistance variations with temperature are determined to enable compensation for inaccuracies in determination of actuator velocity. This inferred temperature is then used to optimize the start up procedure for the spindle motor to accommodate the increased frictional loading of the spindle bearing. In this way an improved performance in the reliability and spin up operation time can be realized without the addition of a separate temperature measurement hardware element.
