  • Patent number: 11704889
Abstract: A method of reducing false positives and identifying relevant true alerts in a video management system includes analyzing images to look for patterns indicating changes between subsequent images. When a pattern indicating changes between subsequent images is found, the video management system solicits from a user an indication of whether the pattern belongs to one of two or more predefined categories. The patterns indicating changes between subsequent images are saved for subsequent use. Subsequent images received from the video camera are analyzed to look for patterns indicating changes between subsequent images. When a pattern indicating changes between subsequent images is detected by the video management system, the video management system compares the pattern indicating changes between subsequent images to those previously categorized into one of the two or more predefined categories. Based on the comparison, the video management system may provide an alert to the user.

  • Patent number: 11704939
Abstract: Biometrics are increasingly used to provide authentication and/or verification of a user in many security and financial applications for example. However, “spoof attacks” through presentation of biometric artefacts that are “false” allow attackers to fool these biometric verification systems. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to further differentiate the acquired biometric characteristics into feature spaces relating to live and non-living biometrics to prevent non-living biometric credentials triggering biometric verification. The inventors have established a variety of “liveness” detection methodologies which can block either low complexity spoofs or more advanced spoofs. Such techniques may provide for monitoring of responses to challenges discretely or in combination with additional aspects such as the timing of user's responses, depth detection within acquired images, comparison of other images from other cameras with database data etc.

  • Patent number: 11704385
Abstract: A method for traffic light auto-labeling includes aggregating vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) traffic light signals at an intersection to determine transition states of each driving lane at the intersection during operation of an ego vehicle. The method also includes automatically labeling image training data to form auto-labeled image training data for a traffic light recognition model within the ego vehicle according to the determined transition states of each driving lane at the intersection. The method further includes planning a trajectory of the ego vehicle to comply with a right-of-way according to the determined transition states of each driving lane at the intersection according to a trained traffic light detection model. A federated learning module may train the traffic light recognition model using the auto-labeled image training data during the operation of the ego vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11694459
Abstract: Disclosed is an approach of on-device partial recognition that includes performing partial recognition on an image of a document captured by a mobile device to detect and/or recognize a specific area (e.g., barcodes, non-relevant text, etc.) and filling the recognized area with a solid color. Because the solid color area has a maximum compression ratio, this approach can lead to image size reduction and increased network throughput for client-server based data recognition where further processing such as advanced data extraction is performed at the server side. The approach can be enforced with neural network algorithms to exclude non-relevant information (e.g., logos, phrases, words, etc.).

  • Patent number: 11688265
Abstract: A system includes video cameras arranged to monitor a vulnerable person, and a processor system that receives video frames from the video cameras, the processor system comprising a processor and a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium having machine instructions executed by the processor. The processor detects and identifies objects in a current received video frame, classifies an identified object as the person by applying a facial recognition algorithm that identifies the person, determines a posture of the person by identifying joints, limbs, and body parts, and their respective orientations to each other and to a plane, and immediately discards the current video frame. The processor then determines a change in motion, of the person, between the current received video frame and one or more prior received video frames, and, based on the determined posture and the change in motion, determines that the person has experienced a defined event.
