The endpoint computing device then establishes a connection for each of its application with the one of the network slices that satisfies the networking connectivity requirement for that application, and exchanges communications via the RAN system and the core network system for that application using the one of the network slices that satisfies the networking connectivity requirement for that application.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for paging coverage extension UEs in a cell controlled by a radio base station. At least one CE-specific paging possibility is defined for paging CE-UEs. The CE-UEs in the cell regularly monitor the at least one CE-specific paging possibility. When the radio base station determines to page all the user equipments in the cell, it pages the CE user equipments in the cell at the CE-specific paging possibility, using a coverage extension technique. The disclosure also relates to a method for paging a CE-UE, which performs radio measurements by a CE-capable user equipment to determine whether coverage extension is necessary. The radio base station is informed about whether the CE-capable user equipment needs coverage extension and then pages the CE-UEs applying or not applying a CE technique depending on whether coverage extension is necessary.

The request message, the response message, and the connection complete message may be radio resource control (RRC) messages.

    Abstract: In one aspect, a User Equipment (UE) performs Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurements on downlink signals with a first cycle period equal to the UE's Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycle period. The RRM measurements cycle period is lengthened when UE detects that a signal quality measurement of the primary cell is greater than the sum of a positive offset and a signal quality measurement of a neighboring cell having the best signal quality among all of UE's neighboring cells. In another aspect, a UE de-multiplexes a paging indication which precedes a Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) in time and is generated using the same sequence generation formula as that for generating a Secondary Synchronization Signal (SSS) in the SSB. From the de-multiplexed paging indication, the UE detects that it is paged for message reception and wakes up to receive the message in a next data reception period of the UE's DRX cycle.

Likewise, another 3GPP notification message may be translated into an additional non-3GPP reachability status communication that causes the release of the one or more communication messages to the IoT device.

Successful decryption authenticates the administrator. Before executing the lost-mode command, however, the target device reviews the unique identifier to verify the target and compares the phone number of the administrator's device with the number identified with the incoming SMS message to authenticate the relaying device. The target device can also consider an embedded time stamp to determine whether the lost-device command has been superseded.
