  • Patent number: 4978935
Abstract: A high-speed, high-reliability electromagnetic relay particularly adapted for use in electronic systems with signal frequencies from DC in excess of 20 MHz. A ferro-magnetic armature is attached to an actuator plate made of dielectric material which is in contact with a flexible contact reed. One end of the contact reed is in fixed electrical contact with an input pin and the other end is movable between a normal position in electrical contact with a first output pin and a second position in electric contact with a second output pin. To improve resistance to environmental extremes such as shock and vibration, a permanent magnet can be located so that its attractive force holds the armature in the normal position.

  • Patent number: 4977357
Abstract: A material device for electronic circuitry that provides pro-tection from fast transient overvoltage pulses. The electroded device can additionally be tailored to provide electrostatic bleed. Conductive particles are uniformly dispersed in an insulating matrix or binder to provide material having non-linear resistance characteristics. The non-linear resistance characteristics of the material are determined by the interparticle spacing within the binder as well as by the electrical properties of the insulating binder. By tailoring the separation between conductive particles, thereby controlling quantum-mechanical tunneling, the electrical properties of the non-linear material can be varied over a wide range.

  • Patent number: 4912487
Abstract: A laser pattern inspection and/or writing system which writes or inspects a pattern on a target on a stage, by raster scanning the target pixels. Inspection can also be done by substage illumination with non-laser light. A database, organized into frames and strips, represents an ideal pattern as one or more polygons. Each polygon's data description is contained within a single data frame. The database is transformed into a turnpoint polygon representation, then a left and right vector representation, then an addressed pixel representation, then a bit-mapped representation of the entire target. Most of the transformations are carried out in parallel pipelines. Guardbands around polygon sides are used for error filtering during inspection. Guardbands are polygons, and frames containing only guardband information are sent down dedicated pipelines. Error filtering also is done at the time of pixel comparisons of ideal with real patterns, and subsequently during defect area consolidation.

  • Patent number: 4912304
Abstract: A thick-film incubator is used with a temperature control circuit and a mounting member on which the thick-film incubator is disposed. The thick-film incubator includes a ceramic substrate which has a first pair of conductive pads disposed at opposite ends thereof and a second pair of conductive pads disposed opposing each other thereon. • Patent number: 4906967
Abstract: An electronic circuit breaker having withstand capability. When the fault current exceeds the required withstand level, the mechanism force trips the circuit breaker. The forces generated by a blow-on contact loop are exerted on the various components of the operating mechanism, including the quick trip latch and secondary latch. As the fault current exceeds the required withstand level, the forces on the operating mechanism exceed the spring force holding together the quick trip latch and secondary latch. These two components rotate as one assembly during a trip operation initiated by energizing the trip coil. In the force trip operation, these two components separate unlatching the mechanism and opening the circuit breaker contacts.
