The particular one of the listed content can be recommended to the identified specific one of the retrieved contacts when the player has incorrectly identified the specific one of the retrieved contacts as a source associated with the particular one of the listed content. Otherwise, the player can be awarded points in the game to a game score for the player for having correctly identified the specific one of the retrieved contacts as a source associated with the particular one of the listed content.

Each computer system offers storage services at one of a set of service levels, the method comprising assigning to each of the computer systems respective peer identifiers from a metric space in such a way that the distance between peer identifiers of computer systems offering storage at the same service level is smaller than between peer identifiers of computer systems offering storage at different service levels.

Abstract: A page update handler, which may be loaded by a web browser as part of a web page, adds functionality for dynamically updating the web page with content supplied by a content server. The content may be related to a particular item detected on the web page by the page update handler, such as a link that matches a link signature, or a recognized keyword or phrase. The content server may operate in a different Internet domain from the server that servers the original web page, and may supply content for display on web pages of many different independent web sites. In one embodiment, an operator of a web site that is separate from the content server can enable the display of content from the content server on the site's web pages by merely adding an update handler tag to one or more corresponding HTML documents.

The device also provides the redirect query to a policy server/accounting database, and receives, from the policy server/accounting database, information indicating that the user device subscribes to a redirect service and subscriber information associated with the user device. A device management database (DMD) query is generated based on the subscriber information, provides the DMD query to a DMD server, and receives, from the DMD server, model information associated with the user device, where the URL information and the model information are used to retrieve redirect information for the user device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an information providing system, information processing apparatus and method, and information providing apparatus and method, adapted to suppress broadcast contents from being utilized unduly. A digital broadcast receiver receives network contents from a contents server. The network contents may make reference to broadcast contents sent on the air by one or more broadcast stations. The broadcast contents broadcast by the broadcast stations includes a broadcast wave BIT (Broadcaster Information Table) containing the address information of an authentication information server. The digital broadcast receiver accesses the authentication information server based on the address information, and requests for an authentication of whether a reference to broadcast contents based on the network contents is allowed. According to the authentication result, the digital broadcast receiver controls a reference to broadcast contents based on the network contents.

Abstract: A mobile router and a correspondent router, each configured for routing services for nodes within their routing prefixes associated with their respective routing tables, establish a secure, bidirectional tunnel based on a messaging protocol between each other and a route server resource. A reactive (i.e., on-demand) protocol is used that enables the requesting device (e.g, the mobile router, correspondent router), to obtain routing information in a secure manner from the route server. The mobile router sends a query via its home agent to the route server resource to identify the correspondent router serving the correspondent node. The mobile router sends a binding update request, specifying a home address and care-of address for the mobile router, to the correspondent router for establishment of a bidirectional tunnel. The correspondent router establishes the bidirectional tunnel, and updates its routing tables based on information from the route server resource.

Abstract: Critical servers are identified in a network, based upon network flow records collected from the network for a predetermined period. A plurality of rules are applied to application-server pairs based upon the collected network flow records to identify, among the application-server pairs, candidate application-server pairs that satisfy at least one of the plurality of rules during the predetermined period in excess of a predetermined number of times, in which case the application-server pair is identified as a candidate application-server pair. A global application-server list including application-server pairs identified across all of the sources is determined. A critical server list including servers corresponding to the global application-server list is generated. Various network mappings comprised of the servers in the critical server list are created, and network measures corresponding to the mappings are displayed.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a mass mail detection device that eliminates the need for preparation of rules or learning in advance and operates at a high speed. Electronic mail collecting means analyzes the electronic mail delivery protocol that flows on the network, and extracts an electronic mail main text from the electronic mail traffic that flows on the network. Next, characteristic quantity conversion means calculates a number of hash values from the electronic mail main text, as the characteristic quantity of the mail. Finally, mass mail detection means compares the newly received electronic mail with the stored past electronic mails, and determines the similarity in accordance with a specific standard. If determined as being similar, the new mail is determined as a candidate for a mass mail (similar mails), and a prescribed number or more of similar mails are determined as a mass mail.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of arbitrating network resource allocation request to reallocate Packet-Switched (PC) dedicated territory as circuit-switched (CS) territory usable for CS connections within a telecommunications network. The extent of any guaranteed bit-rate (GBR) connections within the requested reallocation region of the packet-switched (PS) dedicated territory is determined. Where possible, GBR connections are reallocated within the PS dedicated territory to outside the requested reallocation region. In the event some or all of the requested reallocation region adjacent CS territory is free, it is reallocated as CS territory.
