  • Patent number: 10278512
Abstract: A bed arrangement including adaptive properties is disclosed. The bed arrangement includes a mattress including at least one zone including independently adjustable firmness and/or height, a drive unit arranged to adjust the firmness and/or height of the at least one zone and at least one sensor. The sensor(s) is adapted to measure a physical parameter which is relatable to a lying position used by a user. Further, a control unit is arranged to determine, based on input from the sensor(s), the present lying position of a user. The lying position is determinable to be one of a set of at least two predefined lying positions. Further, the control unit controls the drive unit to adjust the firmness and/or height of the zone(s) to preset firmness/height value(s) corresponding to the determined lying position. Hereby, an automatic adaption of the bed properties to various lying positions is obtained.

  • Patent number: 10265571
Abstract: Provided is a stretching mat whereby high stretching effects are obtained relative to the conventional configuration. An air bag is provided to a stretching part for curving and protruding in a ridge shape along a front-rear direction, and transformation is possible between a gently curved state in which the air bag is deflated and a strongly curved state in which the airbag is swollen and more strongly curved than in the gently curved state. A configuration is also adopted in which air is supplied to the air bag in a state in which a portion of a body is resting on the stretching part, and the stretching part transforms from the gently curved state to the strongly curved state over time, after which the supply of air is stopped and the strongly curved state of the stretching part is maintained.

  • Patent number: 10258175
Abstract: A duvet cover is comprised of a base sheet and a top sheet interconnected together by a peripheral stitched seam. A down feather sheet is retained between the base sheet and the top sheet. The down feather sheet has a substantially constant density of down feathers with the down feathers being retained captive by a binder thereby the duvet cover has a substantially constant insulating factor throughout because the down feathers are immovably retained therein. Such a duvet cover permits the creation of all sorts of stitched or quilted designs therein without concern for the propagation of the down feathers between the base sheet and the top sheet of the duvet which would create irregular insulation.

  • Patent number: 10258525
Abstract: A patient monitoring and repositioning system (10a) includes a mattress (26), a sheet (16) residing on an upper surface of the mattress (26), a housing (29) containing a drive mechanism (28), and a sensor (20) adapted to sense a position of a patient (22) resting on the mattress (26). The drive mechanism (28) is operable to pull the sheet (16) and thereby pull the patient (22) resting thereon. The housing (29) receives the sheet (16) through a slot (54). In the event that the patient (22) is in an undesirable position on the mattress (26) as detected by the sensor (20), a controller (24) directs the drive mechanism (28) to pull the sheet (16) so as to pull the patient thereon from the undesirable position to a desirable, predetermined position. The controller (24) may direct the drive mechanism (28) automatically or indicate the undesirable position to a caregiver so that the caregiver may direct the drive mechanism (28) accordingly.

  • Patent number: 10245197
Abstract: A system such as a hospital bed provides capability to monitor and alleviate the pressure points and provides oxygen and water jets to prevent and treat bed sores in bed-ridden patients. An array of balloons touching each other form a mattress of unstitched but contiguous balloons like in a conventional mattress with stitched puffs. Individual pressure sensors placed within each balloon measure and monitor pressure. Furthermore, horizontal rods which lay between the balloons perform oxygenation and provide water massage to the back of the patient body from the interstitial spaces within the unstitched mattress of contiguous balloons. The rods are elevated to raise the patient above the mattress to relieve overall pressure and enable cleaning and wipe down of the back of the patient body. The rods can elevate the entire patient body or its torso alone or the lower extremities alone to clean as desired.
