Patent number: 4852539Abstract: An air metering valve or supplemental air valve connectable in the PCV system of an internal combustion engine having a shiftable valving member which regulates the quantity of supplemental air introduced into the PCV return. The valve spool is spring biased to the open position by a calibration spring. Pressure chambers are formed on opposite sides of the actuating pistona nd connectable to engine vacuum sources. As the degree of vacuum varies in the vacum sources, the valve spool shifts between an open and closed position. The valve may also be used to provide supplemental ambient combustion air under vacuum control independent of the PCV system. In another embodiment of the invention, the major valve components such as the valve body and shiftable valving member are fabricated from suitable plastic materials.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1987Date of Patent: August 1, 1989Inventor: Chester W. Patent number: 4841920Abstract: A motor saw wherein combustion air is drawn via a port tangentially located at the fan wheel in the fan housing of the motor saw. The combustion air is taken from an air stream in circulation from an air inlet at the top surface of the motor saw body where the concentration of pollutants is low. Patent number: 4834044Abstract: A device for controlling the engine drive power for automotive vehicles with traction control. A hydraulically actuatable control apparatus (1, 1') is inserted between the drive control pedal (7, 7') and the control member (10, 10') of the vehicle engine. The housing (2, 27) of the control apparatus (1, 1') is stationary and accommodates a piston (3, 30) which is axially slideably by the introduction of auxiliary pressure. The piston is coupled to the drive control pedal (7, 7'), on the one hand, and to the control member (10, 10'), on the other hand. A biased non-return valve (21, 45) which opens by a pedal-side tappet (18, 38) in the event of reduction of the pedal force (F) causes resetting of the control member (10, 10') when the pedal (7, 7') is released. An increase of the pedal force (F) during traction control will not result in a change in the position of the control member.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1987Date of Patent: May 30, 1989Assignee: Alfred Teves, GmbHInventor: Joachim Maas
