  • Patent number: 11330565
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure propose a mechanism whereby a nearby device may detect scenarios where one device is unable to receive communications from a transmitting device. For example, the nearby device may detect that concurrent transmissions of a transmitting device and intended recipient prevent reception by the intended recipient and provide feedback to the transmitting device. Rather than blindly retransmitting, the transmitting device may only retransmit when it receives feedback from the nearby device, saving power and avoiding unnecessary transmissions.

  • Patent number: 11330449
Abstract: A communication system includes a plurality of sensor terminals each having an individual time and a management terminal having a reference time. The management terminal associates the individual time with the reference time at which the individual time was received and stores the associated times as a time pair. The management terminal determines a communication delay time using the configuration information of the hardware of the sensor terminal, the version of the software of the sensor terminal, the configuration information of the hardware of the management terminal, the version of the software of the management terminal, and a communication delay-causing combination table. The management terminal corrects the correspondence relationship between the individual time and the reference time in accordance with the communication delay time and corrects information detection time received from each of the plurality of the sensor terminals based on the corrected correspondence relationship.

  • Patent number: 11323553
Abstract: An electronic device includes a first device housing and a second device housing. A hinge couples the first device housing to the second device housing. The first device housing is pivotable about the hinge relative to the second device housing. The hinge separates a first chamber defined by the first device housing and a second chamber defined by the second device housing. A flexible substrate passes through the first chamber and the second chamber. The flexible substrate spans the hinge, either by passing through or around a hinge housing. The flexible substrate deforms to a curvilinear deformed state within one or both of the first chamber or the second chamber when the first device housing and the second device housing pivot about the hinge from a closed position to an axially displaced open position.

  • Patent number: 11316964
Abstract: Provided is a computer implemented method and system for delivering text messages, emails, and messages from a messenger application to a user while the user is engaged in an activity, such as driving, exercising, or working. Typically, the emails and other messages are announced to the user and read aloud without any user input. In Drive Mode, while the user is driving, a clean interface is shown to the user, and the user can hear announcements and messages/emails aloud without looking at the screen of the phone, and use gestures to operate the phone. After a determination is made that a new text message and/or email has arrived, the user is informed aloud of the text message/email/messenger message and in most instances, and if the user takes no further action, the body and/or subject of the text message/email/messenger message is read aloud to the user. All messages can be placed in a single queue, and read to the user in order of receipt.

  • Patent number: 11317247
Abstract: An approach is disclosed for a data-driven evaluation of heuristics for trajectory cropping. The approach involves, e.g., determining a cropping heuristic, wherein the cropping heuristic comprises an algorithm for cropping a probe trajectory collected from one or more sensors of a mobile device to anonymize the probe trajectory data. The approach also involves processing the probe trajectory using the cropping heuristic to generate a cropped probe trajectory. The approach further involves extracting one or more heuristic-based features of the cropped probe trajectory data. The approach also involves extracting one or more privacy-based features from a privacy preference, wherein the one or more privacy-based features represent a target level of cropping to meet the privacy preference. The approach further involves computing a score based on a distance between the one or more heuristic-based features and the one or more privacy-based features. The approach further involves providing the score as an output.

  • Patent number: 11284366
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamic beam sweeping a synchronization signal based on historical usage patterns. In response to determining a recurring pattern of a plurality of user devices being disposed within a certain portion of a sector during a time period, a modified beam sweeping protocol may be implemented. The modified beam sweeping protocol decreases the average periodicity of a series of synchronization signals that are transmitted to a distinct portion of the sector using a distinct beamform, increasing the likelihood of synchronization between user devices and a network, decreasing interference and other undesirable network conditions.

  • Patent number: 11284410
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a data transmission method, a network device and a terminal. In embodiments of the present disclosure, the network device determines a processing interval of the terminal according to parameter(s) reported by the terminal, and then compares a scheduling interval for resource allocation for the terminal with the determined processing interval of the terminal. When the scheduling interval is less than the processing interval, the network device transmits data through a physical downlink shared channel after the scheduling interval by using pre-configured quasi-co-location information corresponding to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 11259365
Abstract: A method for managing one or more wireless connections includes: conducting a plurality of scan operations and a plurality of connection operations. Each scan operation is conducted within one of a plurality of scan windows, and each connection operation is conducted within one of a plurality of connection windows. The scan windows and the connection windows do not overlap with each other. Consecutive scan windows are separated by a scan interval, which is a first integer multiplication of a minimum interval, and consecutive connection windows are separated by a connection interval, which is a second integer multiplication of the minimum interval. When a new wireless connection is added or an existing wireless connection is removed, the link positions corresponding to wireless connections are adjusted to provide balanced distribution of time slot resource for the wireless connections.

  • Patent number: 11252788
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for the modeling of channel condition information, associated with a base station of a radio access network (“RAN”) associated with a wireless network, over time. The model may be used to determine, estimate, or predict channel information associated with the base station at a given time, such as a time corresponding to a request for content (e.g., streaming content). The channel condition information corresponding to this time, as determined based on the model, may be used to select a particular version of the content to provide in response to the request. By virtue of receiving this information, the content provider may forgo performing a speed test, a ramp up transmission scheme, and/or other technique that may otherwise used to select the version of the content to provide in response to the request.
