  • Patent number: 9693121
Abstract: A method for data transmission, between measuring apparatuses (5) and a data processing device (3, 3?) in a measured data recording system (1, 1?) with a controller (7, 7?), includes repeated execution of exchange steps by the controller. The exchange steps include reception of analog measured signals from the measuring apparatuses (5) and/or the digital exchange of digital messages between the measuring apparatuses and the controller (7, 7?). The exchange steps are started with a predefined time lag. A digital data packet is sent by the data processing device (3, 3?) to the controller. The digital data packet contains the code of one of the plurality of measuring apparatuses (5) and a digital message. The controller extracts the code from the digital data packet by the controller (7, 7?) and sends the digital message to the one of the plurality of measuring apparatuses, after the completion of the digital exchange.

  • Patent number: 9691246
Abstract: A flame detector, may be aligned to cover a region to be monitored near a body water. The flame detector has at least one radiation sensor and a downstream evaluation unit. The at least one radiation sensor is sensitive to light in the spectrum of open fire. The evaluation unit outputs a fire alarm in the event of fluctuations or flicker frequencies characteristic of open fire being detected. A linear polarizing filter positioned upstream of the radiation sensor(s) has a polarization plane rotated about a main receiving direction to largely suppress the horizontal component of the received light, based on the knowledge that light reflected from water surfaces is predominantly horizontally polarized. If characteristic flicker frequencies and a significant degree of polarization are simultaneously detected in the received light, the detector identifies sunlight reflected off bodies of water and modulated by the swell, and a false alarm output is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 9666063
Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for motion sensor adjustment. A signal indicating that a moving heat source was detected by a passive infrared sensor may be received. A signal including a current temperature may be received. It may be determined based on the current temperature and at least one previous temperature that an area in proximity to the passive infrared sensor has experienced a temperature change. In response to the determination that the area in proximity to the passive infrared sensor has experienced a temperature change, the signal indicating that a moving heat source was detected by the passive infrared sensor may be disregarded as a false alert and no indication of motion detected may be sent.

  • Patent number: 9665750
Abstract: Provided are RFID systems, methods and RFID tags according to various aspects. An infrared (IR) beam, from an IR transmitter, is outputted in a first direction so that an RFID tag with an IR sensor adds a flag to stored data in the RFID tag in response to the RFID tag's IR sensor detecting the IR beam. An RF interrogation signal is outputted by an RFID reader, and a response is received from the RFID tag to the RF interrogation signal. It is determined whether the flag is contained in the RFID tag's response to the RF interrogation signal, and if so, the RFID tag is determined to be in the first direction relative to the IR transmitter.
