Patent number: 6836277Abstract: In this invention, the relationship between the attachment position of a sensor and the formation positional shift of a color image is checked by moving a color misregistration detection sensor along an attachment position candidate line that is defined in advance in a direction perpendicular to the rotational direction of an endless-belt-shaped transfer body. A specific attachment position on the sensor attachment position candidate line, at which color misregistration of the color image at a side edge portion of the transfer body becomes equal to the maximum value of color misregistration at a portion except the side edge portion, is found. The sensor is fixed at a position that satisfies the specific attachment position and opposes the color image formation surface of the transfer body. Accordingly, the image forming apparatus is controlled to correct color overlay on the basis of the detection signal of the color image by the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2003Date of Patent: December 28, 2004Assignee: Konica CorporationInventor: Naoki Tajima

Patent number: 6834588Abstract: A flexographic rotary platen printing press for printing indicia on a web of flexible material moving along a longitudinal axis. The flexographic rotary platen printing press includes a print drum assembly that is affixed to a trolley that is moveable in a linear direction across the web generally transverse to the direction of the web movement. When the web is stopped, the print drum is caused to roll across the web that is sandwiched between the print drum and a flat, planar platen to print indicia onto the web in a line contact. A linear drive system causes the movement of the print drum assembly. The speed of the transverse movement is electronically coordinated to the speed of the rotation of the print drum as it moves across the web to carry out the printing operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2003Date of Patent: December 28, 2004Assignee: Greydon Inc.Inventors: Gregory P. Patent number: 6823789Abstract: Divided shaft members constitute a cleaning fabric take-up shaft, and are secured at both ends by shaft member fixing means that is attached to a side plate. Shaft member fixing portions include a shaft end supporter, for supporting the end of the shaft member, and a plug that is fitted to a shaft receiving section. A wedge portion is provided, which runs across the center of the shaft end supporter and is projected linearly. When this wedge portion is inserted between the shaft members, the diameter of the shaft is increased. At this time, the winding of the cleansing fabric is performed. To dispose of the wound cleaning fabric, the shaft members are detached from the shaft member fixing portions and the wedge is extracted from the shaft members, so that the diameter is reduced, and the cleaning fabric is disengaged from the shaft members. As a result, the cleaning fabric take-up shaft can be removed from the cleaning fabric roll.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2001Date of Patent: November 30, 2004Assignee: Baldwin-Japan Ltd.Inventors: Akira Hara, Hideo Oyaizu, Shigeo Isobe, Takayuki Gotoh
