  • Patent number: 8396173
Abstract: A receiver includes a static I/Q calibration block and a correlation/integration block. The static I/Q calibration block is configured to substantially eliminate mismatches between in-phase and quadrature components of a portion of the spectrum having associated I/Q mismatches that are relatively frequency-independent. The correlation/integration block is configured to substantially eliminate mismatches between the in-phase and quadrature components of portions of the spectrum having associated I/Q mismatches that are relatively frequency-dependent in accordance with a pair of signals generated by the static I/C calibration block.

  • Patent number: 8396438
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate combining received signals from multiple receive antennas in a wireless communication environment. The received signals from the multiple receive antennas can be weighted utilizing an adaptive combination of maximal ratio combining (MRC) and interference nulling. The combination of MRC and interference nulling can be controlled based upon one or more configurable parameters. For instance, a covariance matrix can be modified to include the one or more configurable parameters, and the modified covariance matrix can be utilized in connection with interference nulling. Further, respective values for the one or more configurable parameters can be selected as a function of at least one input (e.g., measured interference-over-thermal (IoT) value, received loading level indicator, eigenvalue distribution of a covariance matrix, . . . ) related to noise correlation.

  • Patent number: 8346187
Abstract: A transmission circuit broadens a controlled bandwidth of a voltage controller while ensuring voltage withstanding ability of the voltage controller. The transmission circuit includes a phase modulator outputting a phase modulation signal and a power amplifier including a transistor. The transmission circuit also includes a collector controller controlling a collector voltage, a base controller controlling a base bias voltage, and a switching controller, which switches, when a level indicated by the power level signal is lower than a predefined value, to control the collector controller in accordance with an amplitude signal and a power level signal, and which switches, when the level indicated by the power level signal is equal to or more than the predefined value, to control the base controller in accordance with the amplitude signal and the power level signal.

  • Patent number: 8301091
Abstract: A device for interfacing with multiple different types of network access points includes multiple power amplifiers, a switch and a power detecting circuit. The power amplifiers are configured to provide corresponding signals associated with the different types of network access points, each signal having at least one parameter different than a corresponding parameter in another signal. The switch is configured to select one of the signals to provide an output signal. The power detecting circuit is configured to detect power of the output signal, and includes multiple states corresponding to the multiple different types of network access points. The power detecting circuit outputs a voltage level within the same voltage range for the signals in response to the multiple states corresponding to the different types of network access points with which the signals are associated.

  • Patent number: 8265719
Abstract: The present invention concerns a portable electronic apparatus, such as a mobile phone, having an upper part being moveable in relation to a lower part of the apparatus. The movement of the upper part may both be a sliding and a tilting movement. The sliding movement is controlled by means of a sleeve and a guide placed in the upper part of the apparatus. The sleeve is connected to the lower part by means of pair of links at opposite sides of the apparatus. The links are received at opposite ends of each sleeve at fulcrums at the sleeve and lower part, respectively. The links are designed and positioned to give self-locking in at least three distinct positions of the upper part of the portable electronic apparatus in relation to the lower part of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8244196
Abstract: A method is provided for estimating a Noise and Interference (NI) power in a ranging code reception apparatus in a communication system. The method includes generating S correlation values by calculating correlations between L ranging subcarriers received at a ranging code reception apparatus and L elements included in each of S ranging codes available in the ranging code reception apparatus, detecting N reception-desired ranging codes that the ranging code reception apparatus desires to receive, among the S ranging codes, using the S correlation values, and selecting M remaining ranging codes among (S-N) ranging codes obtained by removing the N reception-desired ranging codes from the S ranging codes, and estimating a first NI power using correlation values for the M remaining ranging codes.
