Abstract: An apparatus for cutting chips from a workpiece includes a cutting tool having a rake face and a flank face, the rake face including a cutting edge. A chip breaker is positioned adjacent the rake face for lifting a chip from the rake face after the chip is cut from the workpiece. A supply head is positioned adjacent the chip breaker and a chamber for receiving cryogenic coolant may be formed between the supply head and the chip breaker. A primary nozzle is positioned for directing cryogenic coolant from the chamber onto the rake face and under the chip cut from the workpiece. The primary nozzle may be formed by one or more nozzle channels recessed into the rake face of the cutting tool.

Each panel having two or more columns of variously sized, transparent pockets disposed thereon. An additional, upper pocket is attached to a flexible piece at the inside cover of the organizer. The upper pocket may be extended to a position outside the binder to increase visibility and accessibility of certain items. Index tabs are provided on additional panels to facilitate organization of stored items. Desired items may therefore be accessed quickly and without the need to remove or sift through other items.

Abstract: A file folder includes a first plate, a second plate and two side members. The first plate has three sequent portions defined in one of two ends thereof by three folded lines and two slots are defined in the first portions. The first is folded upwardly, the second portion is folded toward the other end of the first plate and the third portion is folded toward the first portion, wherein the second plate has one end thereof adhered to the third portion. Two side members each having a hook portion are respectively received between the second and the third portion, a protrusion extending from each one of the side members and slidably received in the respective slot so that the side members can be pulled laterally from the file folder to be hung on rods of a drawer.

Abstract: A book-binding apparatus conveying a bind tape in front of a tape heater and an aligned sheet bundle is urged against the bind tape pre-heated by the tape heater to glue a plurality of sheets by melted adhesive on the bind tape. An aligning time for the sheet bundle is calculated on the basis of attributes of the sheets being aligned and a conveyance start timing for the bind tape is changed in accordance with the calculated aligning time.

Abstract: A multi-part, partially pre-printed form useful as an airbill has address information printed thereon by a non-impact printer. The form includes top and bottom transparent plastic sheets affixed together by an adhesive having three panels defined by perforation cuts through the top sheet and die cuts through the bottom sheet. The adhesive facing side of one of the sheets is preprinted with information appearing on each panel. In addition, a background opaque color is printed over the information on two outer panels, leaving the center panel transparent. The information pre-printed on the opaque panels having is in a mirror image format relative to the information pre-printed on the transparent panel. The address is printed on the outward side of the bottom sheet such that the address printed on the transparent panel is a mirror image relative to the information on outer panels. A four part form is also disclosed.

Abstract: A slot opening key having a body member provided with a first, planar abutment surface and a second surface recessed with respect to the first surface and co-directional therewith. The body member is provided with a pair of spaced-apart prongs which are substantially parallel to one another. The first prong protrudes from the first surface, and the second prong is positioned such that it is spaced apart from the first prong by at least a portion of the second surface. A prong rotating lever is provided to eccentrically rotate one prong relative to the other to adjust the spacing therebetween. The slot opening key is used to facilitate removal and insertion of a cutting insert retained between a resilient clamping jaw and a rigid base jaw, by inserting the prongs into corresponding apertures in each jaw, and actuating the rotating lever. The second surface between the first and second prongs provides clearance so that the key body remains clear of the insert during insertion and removal.

It implement a structured method for locating items in those materials and reduces the number of tasks and the frustration involved. This new way involve dividing the reference material into sections. Each section is divided into sub-sections (group of pages). Each page will have two header items (words) indexing range of the items (words) located in the page. The pages in the sub-section is sited so that the header items of each page is just above the header items of the previous page. Locating a word in done through two or three steps. First locating the section, then locating the sub-section (whenever applicable), and finally locating the page. This is done by browsing the header items (words) on each page.

Abstract: A passport includes a data sheet of an individual and a plurality of visa sheets combined with the data sheet and bound by a thread to form a thread binding along a central folding line. A surface of an individual's data printing page of the data sheet is laminated with a protective film composed of a see-through synthetic resin film. An anti-counterfeit structure of the passport is characterized in that the protective film is laminated over a gutter portion of the data sheet including the central folding line, and the thread binding is formed through the laminated area of the gutter portion.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new folio pocket system that securely holds inserted supplemental material. The inserted supplemental material, such as a computer diskette or a CD-ROM disk, is held in a pocket created by and between a first sheet and a second sheet attached thereto, where the second sheet has at least one cutout opening therethrough that defines an opening in the pocket through which the supplemental material may be inserted into the pocket. In use, the preventer means and components of the pocket prevent the inserted supplemental material from unintentionally sliding out of the pocket. Additionally, the folio pocket system of the present invention may be included as a part of a folio, binder or report cover system.

Abstract: Process and arrangement for cutting and/or chamfering pipe front rims of pipes, in particular thick-walled pipes which are used for manufacturing ball bearings. The process includes the steps of measuring the actual external diameter of the pipe or inputting the data of the nominal external diameter of the pipe, moving of at least one cutting head towards abutting contact with the exterior surface of the pipe in a rapid transverse motion in accordance with measurements stored in a control unit, switching the feed motion and/or the cutting speed to conform to the machining process which has been adapted to the material of the pipe for the rapid cutting of a ring piece from the pipe blank. The external periphery of the pipe generally consisting of a hard zone which is being cut by a slower cutting speed and said cutting speed is increased once said hard zone has been fully traversed by the cutting tools mounted on the cutting head.

Abstract: A binding machine for spirally binding a sheaf of papers into a book uses an adjustable speed drive to rotate a flexible plastic spiral element into respective holes in the book. The book has a plurality of holes in a row adjacent one edge of the book to receive the leading edge of the spiral bonding elements. A cylindrically shaped mandrel is spaced apart from a glidable block. The plastic pre-formed spiral binding element is fed onto the mandrel from the distal end thereof, with the leading edge of the binding element facing and spaced apart from the book. A spring is mounted on the slidable block for engaging and adjustably press the spiral binding element on the mandrel so that the upper portion of the binding element is spaced from the top of the mandrel.

Abstract: Short parts are detected on machines where bar stock is fed through one or more work spindles and held in a burring spindle during cut off. The burring spindle contains a sensing rod biased towards the front of the burring spindle and adapted to contact a finished part on the end of the bar stock as the burring spindle moves on to the stock if the part has the proper length. This moves the sensing rod back, with respect to the burring spindle, and a target on the end of the sensing rod enters the sensing field of a proximity sensor. If the burring spindle moves onto a short part, the sensing rod is not moved by the design amount and the target disc does not enter the sensing field of the proximity sensor. The sensor then initiates a short part signal.

An adhesive layer is disposed on the back of the card so that with the flap open the adhesive may be exposed and the card removably adhered to a smooth vertical surface, juxtaposing the face of the flap and an auxiliary message printed upon the same with the face of the main portion. Removal of the card from the surface and either folding of the flap or separation of the same from the main portion converts the card back to one which has a face that has the shape and appearance of a conventional business card.
