  • Patent number: 7770323
Abstract: Disclosed is a prefabricated type flowerpot block. It can be assembled in a simple manner, it can perform root-balling for a predetermined period and it can allow a plant to be transplanted to thus be conveniently moved. Accordingly, it eliminates the trouble of planting a plant to be transplanted in the ground during a transplanting process, and thus it prevents the roots of a plant to be transplanted from being damaged while the plant is moved to a transplanting place. The prefabricated type flowerpot block can also function as a flowerpot to plant therein any size of plant.

  • Patent number: 7765735
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of treating a mulch bed by applying an adhesive composition using portable apparatus including a disposable translucent container supported by a shoulder strap and connected to a wand distributor. The container is filled with liquid adhesive composition having a consistency similar to milk. A wand distributor is attached to the container port and includes a rigid conduit stem interconnecting the container port and a distribution head. The shoulder strap is positioned on the shoulder of a user to support and transport the container. The user operates a gravity flow valve and grasps the rigid stem to move the distributor head and apply the adhesive composition to an area of a mulch bed to prevent undesirable movement of the mulch material.

  • Patent number: 7757435
Abstract: A decorative Christmas tree ornament which functions as a funnel system to aid in the watering of the tree is herein disclosed. The ornament comprises a flip-open lid, thus exposing an interior reservoir. The ornament itself takes the form of a common Christmas icon such as a snowman, an angel, a bell, a gingerbread man, a globe or the like. The bottom of the reservoir is connected to a section of tubing approximately four (4) to five (5) feet long. The tubing is routed along the branch and down the trunk where it empties into a conventional Christmas tree stand supplied with a water basin. The tubing and ornament are held in place with a plurality of clips. Thus, to water the tree, one simply opens the ornament, pours in a quantity of water and walks away. The system is viewed as being particularly useful for trees that are difficult to reach, or for people who have difficulty in bending over, kneeling or crawling under a Christmas tree.

  • Patent number: 7757434
Abstract: An apparatus for securing and irrigating a live tree such as a Christmas tree is herein disclosed. The apparatus incorporates a tree ornament that has an internal water reservoir which is fluidly connected to a tree base stand. Besides holding the tree securely erect, the base stand provides the primary water reservoir for the tree. The ornament is affixed to the tree in a conventional manner with a small diameter hose extending from the ornament to the base stand reservoir. The base reservoir has a float valve that allows water to drain into the base from the ornament while controlling a maximum water level. The apparatus is particularly useful for trees that are difficult to reach, or for people who have difficulty in bending over, kneeling, or crawling under a tree.

  • Patent number: 7748165
Abstract: A device (1) for production of seedlings from seeds comprises a drum (3), with perforated walling, rotatable about the drum axis (4), disposed substantially horizontally, borne in a housing (2). In this drum (3) seeds are able to be filled, which seeds are able to be immersed in a water bath (5) together with the drum (3). For this purpose, the drum (3) rotates, whereupon the seeds and the seedlings sprouting therefrom are optimally turned and dispersed. The drum (3) is mounted on a support, which, along guide means fixed to the housing, is lowerable into the water bath (5) and liftable out of the same again by drive means. The drum (3) is thereby partly submerged in the water bath (5) in the lower position, whereas it is completely lifted out of the water bath (5) in the raised position. An optimal wetting and subsequent drying of the seeds is thus obtained in turn.

  • Patent number: 7730665
Abstract: The present invention includes a reservoir on a base supported at an elevation by a support member above a plurality of plants to be watered. A mechanical fill assembly, containing a flush valve and a float connected to a water supply line, automatically keeps the reservoir filled with water for extended periods. The plants are watered by gravity through a plurality of main valves in the reservoir that provide a controlled amount of water to main lines extending to each group of plants. Branch lines extend from each main line that terminate at perforated plant lines at each plant to be watered. A plant valve controls the amount of water each plant will receive on a continuous basis. In a further embodiment of the invention, a bird porch is attached to the reservoir to automatically provided a bird waterer and to provide a bird feeder. Also, a removable fertilizer tray can be provided to fertilize the plants.

  • Patent number: 7726072
Abstract: An adjustable plant hanger is disclosed having straps that support a pot in which plants are placed. The straps comprise two or more loops that are not fastened to a ring by which the plant hanger may be hung from an overhead hook. The loop straps pass through the adjustable element or sleeve which can slide up and down along the straps to make it easier to mount a larger pot inside the straps of the plant hanger, making it easier to level pot and adjust when needed. The adjustable element is also adjusted vertically to more safely hold pots of different sizes. The straps are connected to a support element located beneath a pot. The spacing element maintains the straps are spaced around the sides of a pot evenly in the plant hanger to assure that the pot will not easily fall from the hanger. The straps may be individually slid through the ring and adjustable element to level an irregular shaped or larger pot held in the plant hanger.

  • Patent number: 7726070
Abstract: A material for maintaining hydration in plants, whether potted or in natural soils may include a substrate treated with a binder, securing a layer of hydrating particles thereto. Typical binders may include lignicite, or other naturally occurring materials such as sugars, molasses, corn syrup, gelatin, or the like. A byproduct of wood, lignicite has been found to be very effective. Various materials can serve as a hydrating, particulate coating. Polyacrylamide has been found to serve well and provide relief from the stress of dehydration that normally occurs in plants between waterings.

  • Patent number: 7712251
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for severing roots of bean sprouts, a severing table has a plurality of ridges formed at predetermined intervals and extending in parallel with a direction in which a cutter blade is moved. Each ridge is formed with a number of severing slits each of which has such a width that a root of a bean sprout falls into each severing slit. The bean sprouts are continuously supplied onto the severing table while a cutter blade is moved along an upper face of the severing table and air is being blown from above the severing table so that roots of the bean sprouts on the severing table flow into the severing slits. The roots of the bean sprouts fallen in the severing slits are severed by the cutter blade. The bean sprouts from which the roots have been severed are conveyed out of the severing table with movement of the cutter blade.

  • Patent number: 7690149
Abstract: The embodiments of Fan Fold Support employ a foam sheet with folds and apertures formed by the foam sheet. The apertures are formed by the foam sheet at alternating folds so that every other fold has an aperture. The final end shape is formed by folding in an accordion-like manner the folds and secured with a compression band. When folded the foam sheet folds are oriented at the top of the folded structure and the apertures are located at the bottom of the folded structure. The sheet may be of various geometry so as to accommodate a variety of final folded end shapes such as a block form, an oval shape, a square, a cylindrical, a cone, a cubic, hexagon, a pentagon, and other multi-sided structures. Objects to be supported are then placed between the folds formed by the foam sheet in the Fan Fold Support.
