  • Patent number: 11755083
Abstract: Methods and devices for manipulating the temperature of a surface are generally provided. The present disclosure relates to a device including one or more heating and/or cooling elements, or other suitable thermal adjustment apparatus(es), placed near a surface, such as the skin of a user. The device may be configured to generate one or more (optionally alternating) thermal profiles at the surface, which may include a series of thermal pulses and/or essentially continuous or semi-continuous thermal input, which may vary over time. Such thermal profiles, when suitably applied, may provide enhanced thermal sensations for a user which, in some cases, may provide the user with a more pleasurable thermal experience than would otherwise be the case without the generation of the thermal profiles. In some embodiments, an alternating thermal profile may include an average frequency, an oscillation window, and/or an average temperature, each of which may be adjustable.

  • Patent number: 11740944
Abstract: A method and apparatus for managing processor functionality includes receiving, by the processor, data relating to one or more environmental conditions. The processor compares the data to pre-existing parameters to determine whether or not the environmental conditions are within the pre-existing parameters for normal operation. If the data are within the pre-existing parameters for normal operation, the processor is operated in a normal operation mode. If the data are outside the pre-existing parameters for normal operation, the processor operates in a second operation mode which is dynamically determined and calibrated during power-on, boot and operation.

  • Patent number: 11726538
Abstract: A method and a device are for power supply switchover in a power system, including two power supplies, each being connected to a bus through an incoming line. The power supply currently in operation is used as the main power supply and the other power supply is used as a backup power supply. Both the incoming line and the bus have three phases, and the lines are connected by their phases. In an embodiment, the method includes: determining whether there is at least one sound phase among the three phases after identifying a fault in the power system; and if there is, obtaining a power data on the sound phase before the main power supply is disconnected. • Patent number: 11714442
Abstract: An electronic device includes an accelerated processing unit (APU) and multiple elements. The APU performs operations for a platform boost and throttle (PBT) controller. For the operations, the APU receives a platform electrical power limit, the platform electrical power limit being a limit on a total electrical power allowed to be consumed by a group of the elements at a given time. The APU then determines a present platform electrical power consumption. The APU next adjusts one or more operating parameters for specified elements from among the group of elements to control electrical power consumption by the specified elements based on a relationship between the present platform electrical power consumption and the platform electrical power limit.

  • Patent number: 11680965
Abstract: During normal operation of a processor, voltage droop is likely to occur and there is, therefore, a need for techniques for rapidly and accurately detecting this droop so as to reduce the probability of circuit timing failures. The droop detector described herein uses a tap sampled delay line in which a clock signal is split along two separate paths. Each of the taps in the paths are separated by two inverter delays such that the set of samples produced represent sample values of the clock signal that are each separated by a single inverter delay without inversion of the first clock signal between the samples.
