Abstract: A waterproof connector (10) has a terminal accommodating portion (20) on which a seal ring (40) is to be fit. Seal mounting walls (36) project out from the terminal accommodating portion (20) and include locking holes (37) through which projections (43) of the seal ring (40) are press-fit from the front. Seal protection walls (33) are arranged behind the seal mounting walls (36) and projection accommodation spaces (S) are provided between the seal mounting walls (36) and the seal protection walls (33) for accommodating the projections (43). The seal protection walls (33) cover the projections (43) from behind so that the projections (43) cannot be pushed forward, cut or damaged by an impact from behind. Accordingly, the seal ring (40) will not be separated inadvertently and sealing performance can be maintained.

  • Patent number: 9929484
Abstract: In the present invention, an electrical connector is formed with contacts on one side of a printed circuit board that are electrically coupled through the board in a known manner. A backing plate formed of a dielectric material is applied to the board over the contacts. The backing plate includes openings extending through the backing plate that are in alignment with the contacts in order to allow electrical connections to be made with the contacts, but while also isolating the contacts from the exterior surface of the backing layer. The backing layer is affixed to the board over the contacts by an adhesive resin layer having an aperture cut into the layer. The aperture cut into the layer surrounds the contacts on the board, and due to the low or no flow nature of the resin, does not flow onto the contacts to cover the contacts.

  • Patent number: 9899758
Abstract: An electrical connector system including a first connector having a lock nib extending from a floor into a terminal cavity and a flexible member overlying the floor. The beam has two terminal hold down bumps extending into the terminal receiving cavity. The electrical connector system also includes a terminal having a lock edge. The terminal is received in the terminal cavity such that the hold down bumps engage a top surface of the terminal, applying a force that biases the terminal towards the rigid floor. The lock nib engages the lock edge, thereby preventing the terminal from being inadvertently withdrawn from the terminal cavity. A second connector defines a shroud into which a portion of the first connector is inserted, wherein the beam compressively contacts an inner surface of the second connector further increasing the force applied to the terminal. The connectors may be formed by an additive manufacturing process.
