  • Patent number: 5609991
Abstract: A photoimageable composition, useful as a photoresist for forming a printed circuit board, is both alkaline aqueous developable but, subsequent to exposure and development, is processable in highly alkaline environments, such as additive plating baths and ammoniacal etchants. • Patent number: 5599650
Abstract: The present invention provides a lithographic printing plate comprising a substrate and a photocurable polymeric photoresist, such as those based on free-radical initiated photocuring mechanisms. To constrain detrimental and undesired activity of excess free radicals, an embodiment of the printing plate is further provided with a free-radical regulating system. In a particular embodiment, the free-radical regulating system is provided as an overcoat, the overcoat being a light-transmissive overcoat and comprising a polymer having a pendant free-radical trapping group. A particular polymer for the overcoat has the formula ##STR1## wherein, m is from approximately 20% by weight to approximately 95% by weight, and n is from approximately 0% by weight to approximately 75% by weight. Capable of deactivating free-radicals actinically generated in the photoresist subsequent to exposure, the polymer is soluble in fountain or ink solution and incompatible with the photoresist.

  • Patent number: 5585224
Abstract: A method of producing an aperture grill of a CRT display device is disclosed. The aperture grill is of a small thickness of the order of 20 to 100 .mu.m. To a metal plate with front and rear surface resin layers are applied front slit pattern mask with a single broad slit pattern and a rear slit pattern mask with two adjacent, narrow slit patterns. With these two masks disposed in opposition, the slit patterns are printed and developed on the resist layers. Thereafter, etching is carried out on the rear surface of the metal plate via the rear resist layer, and rear cavities are formed in the metal plate. Then, a reinforcing, etchant-proof film is attached to the rear resist layer to cover the rear cavities, and thereafter etching is carried out on the front surface of the metal plate via the front resist layer, to thereby form a front cavity.
