Abstract: A resistive exercise suit has a resistive shirt and resistive exercise trousers. The resistive exercise shirt uses tension bands on sleeve fronts and backs and attachment to central elastic blocks on the front and back of the shirt. Both the tension bands and the elastic blocks are incorporated into the shirt and provide means by which resistance can be made against arm movements. Thumb stirrups form the sleeve ends and serve as means by which the hands may engage the tension bands and apply resistance against the arms and their muscles. The tension bands may be adjustably attached to the elastic blocks. The thumb stirrups may also be adjustable. Front and back flaps form an adjustably attachable shirttail that may pass between the wearer's legs in order to ensure a snug and secure fit of the resistive exercise shirt to the wearer. Connection of the front and back flaps ensure that the resistive exercise shirt does not ride up on the wearer.

Abstract: A garment and method for its use, a covering such as a poncho or an anorak, designed to enable a backpacker to don the covering while he or she is wearing a backpack. The garment incorporates a belt with an integrally-formed pouch where the covering garment is stored. The pouch is worn about the waist of the user with the pouch at the front. Where the garment is an anorak, it is open in the back. To use, the user unfolds the garment from the pouch and dons the garment from the rear. There is a slide fastener in the back of the unfurled garment, allowing the user to close the back of the garment after it has covered the backpack.

Abstract: A footwear article and the method of making the same which will allow water vapor due to perspiration to transpire through the article but will prevent liquid water from external sources from reaching the wearer's foot. One form of the footwear article of the invention comprises a sock which is of three-ply construction with the inside and outside plies being knit and the intermediate ply being made from an elastomeric polyurethane film. The three plies are uniquely bonded together using a pliant, waterproof adhesive.

Abstract: A scarf garment includes an elongated strip of material with upper and lower portions connected along a foldable joint. The ends of the material strip are connectable with fasteners. In a second embodiment of the invention a hood portion is connected to the material strip, along the interface of the strip. The hood is connected intermediate the upper and lower edges of the strip such that the upper portion of the strip may be folded while the hood remains attached to the material strip. The lower portion of the material strip is preferably wider than the upper portion, such that the lower portion will extend downwardly under the collar of a coat worn by a person.

Abstract: A firefighter pant support system for use with firefighter pants having an outer sheel of a fire and moisture resistant material and an inner liner of a heat resistant material wherein the inner liner is removable from the outer shell. The support system includes a vest member having a body preferably made of a heat-resistant open mesh, and a waistband having a plurality of button holes for receiving fasteners, such as buttons or fastener studes, such that the vest member supports the pant liner and outer shell when worn by a user. In an alternate embodiment, the vest member is stitched permanently to the liner to make a jump pant. The vest member distributes the weight of the pant liner and pant shell over a broader area than conventional suspenders, provides a layer of thermal protection for the upper body of the wearer and can carry reflective trim detectable when the wearer removes his firefighter coat.

Abstract: A convertible, outerwear garment comprising a sleeveless vest with a jacket having sleeves attached to the interior of the vest at a pouch or pocket formed along a lower edge of the jacket. Panels at the sides of the jacket may be joined to the side of the pouch to complete the jacket structure. The jacket may be inserted into a pouch pocket when the vest is worn without the jacket. The jacket may be deployed from the pouch and the jacket sleeves inserted through the side openings in the vest, the jacket mode to provide added protection to the wearer. In this mode, the lower side panels of the jacket are secured at the side of the pouch. Another pocket may be provided in the rear of the vest to receive a rain cape or poncho which may be deployed by the user for additional wet weather protection.

Abstract: A one-piece wet suit comprises a continuous body portion having a neck opening, arm openings and leg openings, the suit being formed from panels of a first, insulative material and panels of a second material having higher elasticity than the first material. The second material extends around at least part of the neck opening to allow the suit to be pulled on or taken off over the body of a wearer via the neck opening.
