  • Patent number: 4962802
Abstract: A pneumatic vehicle tire having a radial carcass, the load-carriers of which are made of steel or of a material of comparable high strength, and the ends of which are anchored in the tire beads by being looped around pull-resistant bead cores. The tire has a centrally disposed tread strip with a recessed portion on each side, and a multi-ply belt, which to the sides extends into the recessed portions, and which has load-carriers made of steel or the like. A low-damping rubber layer can be disposed between plies of the belt. In order to achieve a further reduction of resistance to rolling, it is proposed to dispose a rubber layer, of soft, low-damping rubber, between the radially innermost ply of the belt and the radial carcass, with this rubber layer having a Shore A hardness in a range of from 50 to 65, and a rebound elasticity in a range of from 55 to 70%.

  • Patent number: 4963209
Abstract: Stretched surface recording disk (SSR) 10 comprising an annular support 12 having raised annular ridges 28 and 42 at its inside and outside diameters 22 and 30 with a base portion 24 in between the two ridges, and an annular recording medium film 14 held in radial tension and stretched across the base portion by adhering the film to attachment surfaces 48 and 36 near the inside and outside diameters respectively. The bond between the recording medium film and the support at the inner and outer attachment surfaces is formed by an electron beam cured adhesive such as a mixture of hydantoin hexacrylate and dimethylacrylamide. By manufacturing the stretched surface recording disks with the e-beam process, significantly less time is required to adhere each stretched recording medium to its support, and the quality of the bond between the support and recording medium film is improved.

  • Patent number: 4957573
Abstract: A self-healing tire containing an inner tube is obtained by a method comprising coating either the surface of the tube or the inner surface of a tire casing with a tacky, non-flowing sealant material. Prior to insertion of the inner tube, the surface of the sealant or the opposing surface of the tube or casing or both are coated with a anti-tack material, such as a plasticizer for the sealant. The anti-tack material renders the sealant non-tacky for a period of time long enough for insertion and inflation of the tube. However, the anti-tack material allows the sealant surface to become tacky again thereby adhering the tube to the casing and providing for sealing of the tube when it is punctured.

  • Patent number: 4934044
Abstract: A method for wiring an electronic device including a plurality of electronic components and a plurality of connector elements for interconnecting the plurality of electronic components, the connector elements being arranged on the same plane in spaced relation to each other so as to define passages includes a number of steps. A first discrete line is connected to a surface of a first connector element such that the first discrete line extends on a first passage extending along the first connector element. Two pins are positioned along the first passage, substantially perpendicular thereto. The first discrete line is bent along the two pins, a distance between the at least two pins is then reduced, and the at least two pins are then moved away from the first passage. Similar, steps can be used to provide multiple discrete line between two connector elements or along the same passage between different connector elements.

  • Patent number: 4927488
Abstract: A rotatably supported annular tire bead is rotated by drive rollers held in contact with the inner circumferential surface of the bead, and during rotation of the bead a tape is fed and stuck onto the inner circumferential surface of the bead. The opposite side edge portions of this tape extending from this bead are stuck onto the opposite side surfaces of the bead by being pinched from the opposite sides by flange portions of the drive rollers and flange members opposed thereto, subsequently the opposite side edge portions of the tape are folded back onto the outer circumferential surface of the bead by means of scraper members, and thus the bead is perfectly covered by the tape. The above-mentioned flange members are fitted around the drive rollers so as to be slidable in the axial direction, and they are biased to reduce the intervals between the flange members and the flange portions of the drive rollers. Furthermore, there is provided expanding means for expanding the above-mentioned intervals.

  • Patent number: 4924925
Abstract: A horizontal link member for connecting vertical links of a tire chain. The ink member includes a ring element and a closure part. The ring element includes a ring body that merges via transition portions into two outwardly extending arms that are adapted to contact one another in a closed position of the link member. The closure part is adapted to be placed over the arms to bring about the closed position of the link member and contact of the arms with one another. The closure part is provided with deformable holding portions, in the form of indentations of wall portions of the closure part, for effecting securement of the closure part to the ring element. The indentations extend transverse to a plane connecting longitudinal central axes of the arms, and are adapted to extend into recessed portions of the arms to effect the securement of the closure part to the ring element.
