  • Patent number: 8949292
Abstract: Automatically translating a building architecture file format (Industry Foundation Class) to a simulation file, in one aspect, may extract data and metadata used by a target simulation tool from a building architecture file. Interoperability data objects may be created and the extracted data is stored in the interoperability data objects. A model translation procedure may be prepared to identify a mapping from a Model View Definition to a translation and transformation function. The extracted data may be transformed using the data stored in the interoperability data objects, an input Model View Definition template, and the translation and transformation function to convert the extracted data to correct geometric values needed for a target simulation file format used by the target simulation tool. The simulation file in the target simulation file format may be generated.

  • Patent number: 8943107
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for generating and using temporal metadata partitions. Metadata can be stored in temporal metadata partitions based upon a time range included in the metadata. Furthermore, metadata can be stored in multiple temporal metadata partitions to which the metadata is relevant. As such, metadata can be stored in manner that allows event data to be understood in the context of temporally accurate and/or relevant metadata. Functionality for executing queries of event data and providing results in view of metadata, as well as the merging of multiple temporal metadata partitions also are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8943545
Abstract: A Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) system and method of providing content therein are provided. A legacy media player displays a content list for content stored in the legacy media player or in an add-in server, and when a content item is selected from the list, the legacy media player determines whether the content item is reproducible by a registered digital media renderer. If the selected content item is reproducible by the registered digital media renderer, the legacy media player transmits a reproducing request for the selected content item, and the corresponding digital media renderer receives and reproduces the selected content.

  • Patent number: 8924434
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating comparing or juxtaposing characteristics or attributes of human resources of an enterprise. The example method includes displaying one or more representations of one or more human resources and providing various user options. A first user option enables a user to add a representation of a human resource to a shortlist. A second user option enables a user to initiate a comparison operation based one or more user selected human resources chosen from the shortlist. In a more specific embodiment, the comparison operation results in display of a comparison view that juxtaposes various attributes of human resources being compared. Example attributes include numbers of keyword matches appearing in human resource profiles, availability scores, locations, billing rates, qualification scores, and so on.

  • Patent number: 8924363
Abstract: A method for correcting service manual textual inconsistencies. Extracting textual procedures from service documents stored in a memory of a service document storage device. Each term of an extracted textual procedure terminology is compared to a correlating target name terminology for identifying any matching terms by a processor. An overlap similarity is computed as a function of the identified matching terms from the extracted textual procedure terminology and the correlating target name terminology. A determination is made whether the overlap similarity is greater than a predetermined similarity threshold. The service documents are modified to change the extracted textual procedure terminology to the correlating target name terminology in response to the overlap similarity being greater than the predetermined similarity threshold and the extracted textual procedure terminology not exactly matching the correlating target name terminology.

  • Patent number: 8914343
Abstract: Keys are obtained and aggregated by storing a primary object as an entry in a parent keys storage and a child keys storage, the entry identified as unvisited in each. An object evaluation process is then performed until all unique entries in the parent keys storage and all unique entries in the child keys storage have been visited and by committing the keys of at least one related object as an entry to the hierarchical database. The object evaluation process visits each unvisited object in the parent keys storage and child keys storage by selecting, for the unvisited object, objects in the parent direction that have not already been visited and objects in the child direction that have not already been visited and by inserting the keys of the selected related objects as entries in the parent keys storage or child keys storage.

  • Patent number: 8914413
Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product defines multiple context-based data gravity wells on a context-based data gravity wells membrane. Non-contextual data objects are associated with context objects to define synthetic context-based objects. The synthetic context-based objects are parsed into an n-tuple that includes a pointer to one of the non-contextual data objects, a probability that a non-contextual data object has been associated with a correct context object, and a weighting factor of importance of the synthetic context-based object. A virtual mass of each parsed synthetic context-based object is calculated, in order to define a shape of multiple context-based data gravity wells that are created when synthetic context-based objects are pulled into each of the context-based data gravity well frameworks on a context-based data gravity wells membrane.

  • Patent number: 8914395
Abstract: In a method for translation of a medical database query from a first language into a second language, a query to be translated is received from a use of the medical database. A respective translation for the query from each of several translation engines is obtained, and a respective ranking score for each of the obtained translations is determined. The determined ranking scores are then utilized to select a translations from the several obtained translations. The selected translation is then provided to the user and/or is used to search the medical database to obtain search results for the query and the obtained search results are then provided to the user.

  • Patent number: 8898149
Abstract: A computer system maintains a biological data structure having molecular feature data. The system receives data elements indicating biological molecular features and knowledge elements that represent biological concepts. The system individually associates unique identifiers with the elements. For individual elements, the system maintains an internal element set of the other unique identifiers for the other elements that are directly associated with that one individual element. For the individual elements, the system maintains an external element set of the other unique identifiers for the other elements that have that one individual element in their own internal element sets. Although not required, the computer system may process a query indicating a search scope and a molecular feature for an individual biological entity, and responsively process the molecular feature and the elements based on the search scope to induce a knowledge sub-graph for the individual biological entity.

  • Patent number: 8892532
Abstract: A document archiving and retrieval system enables third parties to verify that an electronic document had been archived on a particular date and time. For each document to be archived, a hash function generates a digital fingerprint of the document, and inserts it into a hash list file, together with an indicator of the location of the file in the archive. The hash list file is submitted to an electronic time stamping authority to obtain a corresponding digital time stamp. Upon request, authentication of the hash list file with the digital time stamp, and verification that the current hash of the file matches that in the hash list file proves that the document was archived on the date indicated by the digital time stamp, and had not subsequently been altered.

  • Patent number: 8892526
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and other embodiments associated with de-duplication seeding are described. One example method includes re-configuring a data de-duplication repository with a blocklet from a data de-duplication seed corpus. Reconfiguring the repository may include adding a blocklet from the seed corpus to the repository, activating a blocklet identified with the seed corpus in the repository, removing a blocklet from the repository, and de-activating a blocklet in the repository. The example method may also include re-configuring a data de-duplication index associated with the data de-duplication repository with information about the blocklet. Reconfiguring the repository and the index increases the likelihood that a blocklet ingested by a data de-duplication apparatus that relies on the repository and the index will be treated as a duplicate blocklet by the data de-duplication apparatus.
