  • Patent number: 5101719
Abstract: A hay bale ventilator in the form of an attachment for the plunger of a hay baler to progressively form a central bore or passageway through the hay bale as it is formed by the hay baler thereby reducing the tendency of hay bales to mold in the center thereof due to the moisture content of the material being baled. The hay bale ventilator is in the form of a support plate having a tapered pointed member extending therefrom with the plate being mounted on the plunger of the hay baler and the pointed member forming a hole or passageway through each segment of the hay bale as it is formed. The pointed member is of two-piece construction having a wear-resistant pointed tip removably mounted on a larger cylindrical member connected with the plate. The cylindrical member has four longitudinally extending, radially projecting ribs thereon which forms a hole through the hay bale of generally square configuration.

  • Patent number: 5020917
Abstract: Disclosed is a cleaning solution delivery system for mixing and metering cleaning solution from liquid bulk storage containers of liquid cleaning concentrate. The mixing and metering station includes a first set of hydraulic cylinders each of which is connected to one of a plurality of liquid bulk storage containers containing liquid cleaning concentrate, a second hydraulic cylinder connected to a source of water, and a third set of hydraulic cylinders each of which is connected to one of a plurality of liquid chemical additive tanks. Various cleaning solution formulas can be mixed with this system and metered through a single delivery hose. The mixing and metering station may be used at a variety of locations to ultimately provide cleaning solution to on-site individual usage dispensers.

  • Patent number: 4961527
Abstract: A paper transporting tractor for transporting paper provided with sprocket holes at an equally spaced interval along either side thereof includes a first endless belt having a plurality of sprockets at its outer peripheral surface and a serrated portion at its inner peripheral surface, a driving gear which is in mesh with the serrated portion of the belt thereby causing the belt to move either forward or backward, an end guide portion provided as spaced apart from the driving gear to provide the first endless belt as extended between the gear and the end guide portion and a second endless belt of thin film provided around the end guide portion as sandwiched between the first endless belt and the end guide portion at least partly thereby allowing to substantially decrease the friction between the first endless belt and the end guide portion.

  • Patent number: 4852471
Abstract: Disclosed is a semiautomatic frying apparatus including a food carrying basket having a forward mounting lip and a rearward handle. The apparatus includes a basket-supporting shaft having a lip-engaging cradle for mounting the basket to the shaft. Disposed beneath the shaft, in a position to receive the basket upon rotation of the shaft, is a vessel holding heated cooking medium such as oil. A plate-like heater disposed beneath the vessel in heating contact therewith includes a bottom surface having a recess for mounting one or more temperature sensors, the recess opening into an airflow cavity. The frying apparatus is disposed within a cabinet and a fan and filter, also disposed within the cabinet, provides an air flow therethrough. A door connected by linkage to the basket-supporting shaft selectively blocks air flow through the cavity beneath the heating plate, and when opened to an unblocking position, purges heated air from the recess air, providing compensation for the temperature sensors therein.

  • Patent number: 4403914
Abstract: A variable geometry device is provided for use in a turbine engine having a support housing, a rotor contained within the support housing and a pair of spaced walls forming an annular and radially extending passageway open at one end to the rotor. An annular recessed channel is formed in one of the support housing walls while a ring is mounted within the channel and movable between a retracted position in which the ring is nested within the channel and an extended position in which the ring protrudes transversely into and variably restricts the passageway so that the restriction of the fluid passageway is substantially proportional to the transverse position of the ring. A plurality of circumferentially spaced vanes are secured to the ring and these vanes extend transversely across the fluid passageway and are slidably received within slots formed in the other support housing wall.

  • Patent number: 4172565
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for winding a strip of thin material such as paper. The apparatus is particularly suited for use with variable speed printer-plotter machines which discharge paper over a wide range of speeds. Such machines require that the tension applied to the paper by the paper take-up mechanism be minimized or maintained within pre-selected limits so that printing-plotting quality is maintained. To this end, the apparatus permits the paper to fall in a free loop between two points of support and includes a sensor which monitors the condition of the loop and actuates a take-up motor when the loop achieves a predetermined magnitude.
