Abstract: A salesperson may estimate his compensation in different hypothetical scenarios by inputting hypothetical sales data into a compensation estimation system. The compensation estimation system may compute the sales person's hypothetical compensation based on both actual sales data and the hypothetical sales data, thereby producing a “what if” outlook for the sales person. Significantly, the hypothetical sales data can be entered into and modified within the compensation estimation system without modifying or corrupting the actual sales data.

Abstract: Techniques are described for generating characterizations of time series data. In one example, a method includes extracting a trend-cycle component, a seasonal component, and an irregular component from a time series of data. The method further includes performing one or more pattern analyses on the trend-cycle component, the seasonal component, and the irregular component. The method further includes, for each pattern analysis of the one or more pattern analyses, performing a comparison of an analytic result of the respective pattern analysis to a selected significance threshold for the respective pattern analysis to determine if the analytic result passes the significance threshold for the respective pattern analysis. The method further includes generating an output for each of the analytic results that pass the significance threshold for the respective pattern analysis.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a computer implemented method and system for determining an optimization schedule comprising: executing, via the computer processor, a volume forecast determination for at least one ATM device to generate forecast data, wherein the volume forecast comprises a withdrawal forecast and a deposit forecast; executing, via the computer processor, a simulation based on the forecast data to develop a set of possible schedules for the at least one ATM, wherein the simulation considers one or more identified uncertainties; automatically, via the computer processor, generating one or more fault risks based at least in part on the one or more identified uncertainties; and automatically, via the computer processor, determining an optimal schedule for the at least one ATM device based on the one or more fault risks.

Abstract: A first mobile device associated with a first member of a social networking service may be configured to facilitate social networking service connections based on calendar data validated by the first mobile device. For example, the first mobile device accesses calendar data that pertains to an electronic calendar of the first member. The first mobile device identifies a scheduled event based on the calendar data. The first mobile device determines that the first member and a second member of the social networking service attended the scheduled event based on a proximity between the first mobile device and a second mobile device associated with the second member. The first mobile device generates a communication for the first member that includes a prompt to connect with the second member via the social networking service, based on the determining that the first member and the second member attended the scheduled event.

The method comprises an application of an evaluation server receiving inputs that are responses to a survey of a user of a workstation. The method comprises the application determining a personality type and a technical ability level of the user. The method comprises the application receiving a request for a widget, wherein the widget provides the functionality to complete the user request that is related to an issue that the user wants to resolve. The application automatically selects a widget from a plurality of widgets based on the type of user request and the technical ability level of the user. The application then transmits the widget to the user.
