Abstract: A cutter has a roller body which is made from a hollow profile-like inner part and a tubular profile-like outer part having an irregular cross-sectional shape. The outer part and inner part are such that the working flight circle of a tool on the body is approximately as near to an axis of rotation as the maximum outer circumference of the body. Apart from forming a mold core for the outer part, the inner part also forms a clamping body, and includes a supporting body and a balancing counterweight for the tool unit, thereby providing a very high cutter block strength, and at the same time, a low mass moment of inertia.
Abstract: A device for performing the continuous cutting of materials of any form and nature, provided they are stratified and not flexionally rigid. The device generally comprises: fixed and mobile support surfaces; a mobile cutting shear cooperating with a fixed cutting shear; a fixed blocking unit on the fixed support surface side of the cutting shears; a mobile blocking unit on the mobile support surface side of the cutting shears; an eccentric for driving mobile portions of the device, including the mobile cutting shear, the eccentric being synchronized with the fixed and mobile blocking units; and a link block and slide guide. Non-rigid, stratified materials thereby may be more easily cut in that the invention substantially reduces or eliminates the dragging effect of the material that typically occurs during the cutting process.
Abstract: A plastic bag dispenser holds a continuous roll of bags, connected by perforated separation lines. The dispenser is provided with a tongue, which the bags are dispensed over, that engages the separation line between the bag at the end of the roll and the next bag. This begins the separation of the separation line, as well as holds the next bag behind the tongue. A finger is provided on the upstream side of the tongue, with a gap between the finger and tongue. As a bag is separated, a portion of the front edge of the next bag is held in the gap, holding the bag in position for the next user. The roll of bags rests in angled grooves in the dispenser that cause the roll to abut and frictionally engage an interior surface of the dispenser, preventing free-wheeling of the roll.
Abstract: A cap opening machine for a film seal cap, includes a hollow punch with a depressurizable space defined in a hollow portion thereof; a pressure regulating device for regulating pressure in the depressurizable space; and a punching-action causing mechanism for moving the punch and the cap relative to each other, whereby a punched-out piece, punched out by the punch, is processed by the action of a differential pressure between atmospheric pressure and the pressure in the depressurizable space. With the design, this cap opening machine can eliminate manual work of an operator that may cause infection, hardly contaminates the contents of containers, and shows high performance.

Abstract: A stop mechanism for a feed roller associated with a cutter in a dispenser for flexible rolled web material has a stop lever which provides a substantial mechanical advantage. The increased mechanical advantage permits the vacuum cups of a vacuum cup timer to be effortlessly and reliably set. The stop lever has a long actuating arm which pivots about a pivot point. The long actuating arm creates a substantial mechanical advantage for setting the vacuum cups in vacuum-gripping engagement. The mechanism advantage greatly enhances the low pull force requirement and smooth operation of the dispenser.
Abstract: A bale debanding method and apparatus comprising a band breaking blade, a band winding mandrel and a mandrel cleaning plate are mounted to a frame. A support table is attached to the frame for receiving a waste paper bale that is held together by banding material. As the bale is moved past the band breaking blade, a band retention notch engages a band and by stretching it breaks the band. Once a band is broken, an extensible band catch extending out of the mandrel contacts the band and facilitates the band in being wound around the mandrel. Once all of the bands have been removed from the bale, the band catch is retracted to a position within the mandrel and a cleaning plate is moved axially along the mandrel sweeping the bands off a free end of the mandrel. This process is repeated to remove bands from other surfaces of the bale, thereby releasing the waste paper in preparation of processing.

Further, there are provided work table adjusting device for adjusting the cutting tool movement locus in parallel to the work table and tool height detecting device for determining an origin in the Z-axis direction, etc.
Abstract: A tripod head comprising (a) a plate connecting with a camera, (b) a camera platform for receiving, (c) two joints linking said camera platform to a central post of a tripod, one of said joints enabling said camera platform to rotate about an axis perpendicular to an axis of the central post while the remaining of said joints enabling said camera platform to rotate about the axis of the central post and (d) a handle for rotating said camera platform, comprising a coupler connecting with said camera platform and a grip pivotably connecting with said coupler.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for imparting an angle cleave to a plurality of optical fibers. The cleaving device comprises a base having a support surface, the support surface having two lower pads which are aligned with two upper pads on a hinged cover, so that the fibers may be clamped between the respective pairs of lower and upper pads. One of the upper pads is designed to shift with respect to its corresponding lower pad; when a fiber is clamped between these pads and the upper pad moves, the fibers twist as a result of the induced torsional load. When the fibers are scored and cleaved while in the twisted state, the resulting end faces are at an oblique angle with respect to the fiber axes, which is beneficial since this reduces signal reflections at the fiber-to-fiber interfaces.

Abstract: In a multiple tool for a punch press, a plurality of punches (57) are arranged circularly so as to be movable up and down within a stripper guide (41) provided also movably up and down in an upper die holding member (15) of the punch press; a punch driver (77) is disposed so as to be rotatable and movable up and down in a central hole (75) within the stripper guide (41); and a projecting portion (97) is formed in the punch driver (77), for striking any one of a plurality of the punches. Further, an indexing device is mounted to rotate the punch driver (77) so that the projecting portion (97) can be indexed over any required punch (57A), for instance. Since only one required punch of a plurality of the punches can be struck without moving the striker, the multiple tool is simple in structure, high in precision, and low in cost.
Abstract: A saw blade with cutting wings on the teeth. The blade has a blade body, teeth located on an outer edge of the blade body, and cutting wings extending from either side of each tooth on the blade body. Each tooth is angled in a direction opposite that of the adjacent teeth to eliminate block cutting characteristics and to enhance the serrating effect of the teeth. A first wing is longer than a second wing and contains a barb that enhances the serrating effect of the wing. Both wings are beveled so that the sharpest edge of the wings is located on the outer edge of the wings. The cutting wings pre-cut a width of the material and reduce the splintering and shredding effects of the blade on the material.
