  • Patent number: 7281562
Abstract: A curtain blind power conversion device with reverse brake effect, wherein the power conversion device particularly provides the brake effect and power conversion during course of manipulating slats of the curtain blind. The power conversion device is structured to include a first annular gear and a second annular gear, the two annular gears having different circular pitch and coaxially configured face to face. The first annular gear is fixedly configured, whereas the second annular gear passively rotates, and the two annular gears synchronously engage with a single planetary gear set. Utilization is made of the unequal circular pitch of the two annular gears to produce an angular speed difference, where upon the second annular gear being subject to an external force feedback, the reverse brake effect is thereby assuredly achieved.

  • Patent number: 7281561
Abstract: A high R-rating window assembly storing multiple, reciprocating reflective flexible film layers in a sealed housing between rigid (e.g. glazed) layers. The glazed layers are separated on the order of 3 to 5-inches and are secured to low thermal conductivity framework pieces. The framework is capped with a motorized roller and film housing and the assembly is evacuated and filled with a desiccated, inert dry gas. Several plastic, reflective coated films are supported under tension in planar parallel relation between the glazing layers from the motorized roller and several guide rollers and guide tracks. Location sensors responsive to indicia on the films identify film position. Temperature sensors monitor ambient, internal and user set thermal conditions to control film exposure. The films are operable via a room control system and window controllers to define open, closed and partial exposure conditions. Alternative control functions may control film exposure in relation to room occupancy.

  • Patent number: 7261139
Abstract: An upward acting door, such as a flexible curtain rollup door, is moveable between open and closed positions by an electric motor drive unit wherein the motor has a drive shaft with an external drive tang for engagement with a hand crank member. The crank member is adapted for mounting on a wall bracket and in engagement with a switch connected to a motor control unit. When the crank member is removed from its bracket, the switch causes the motor control unit to prevent transmission of electrical power to the motor. A manually disengageable brake is associated with the motor drive unit and is connected via an actuating member to a foot pedal which may be operated by a person using the crank member to disengage the brake and to allow free rotation of the motor drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 7255198
Abstract: The present invention 10 discloses a stepladder having a ladder portion 18 that is comprised of rungs 24 and includes two ladder side rails, and a support portion that includes two angularly disposed telescoping legs 20 that provide mechanism for stabilizing the ladder. The telescoping support legs 20 are interconnected to each other and to the ladder side rails by lockable rigid spanner arms 22. When in use, the spanner arms 22 are locked in an open position to form a tripod formation between the rails while additionally limiting the angle of spread between the ladder portion 18 and the support legs 20. The present invention 10 also provides a retractable fly assembly 26 at the top of the ladder rails to provide for additional usable working height. A safety belt 36 is provided on the handle for additional support. • Patent number: 7228936
Abstract: A mobile scaffold (10) having bi-axially rotatable casters (22–28) and including brake assemblies (30 and 32) associated with the casters (22–28) is disclosed. The inventive brake assemblies (30,32) enable an elevated worker to selectively control the mobility of the scaffold (10) and each broadly includes shiftable brake stop subassemblies (74 and 76), a brake housing (72) adjustably connected to a respective scaffold frame (12,14) and shiftably connected to the brake stop subassemblies (74,76), and an actuator (78) adjustably connected to the housing (72) and configured to shift the brake stop subassemblies (74,76) into and out of braking positions. When in the braking position, the brake stop subassemblies (74,76) prevent the respective casters (22–28) from rotating about both axes. The actuator includes cables (180,182) for interconnecting brake stop subassembly and the handle in one embodiment and a plunger (308,406) in other embodiments.

  • Patent number: RE39725
Abstract: A tree stand, for attaching onto a tree and creating an elevated platform thereon, comprising a platform having a pair of side members, a pair of seat supports pivotally attached to the platform, a bracing system for fixing an angle between the platform and side members, and a pair of upper levelers and a pair of lower levelers. The lower levelers extend from the side members and adjust to the contours of the tree. The upper levelers extend from the seat supports and further aid adjustment to the contours of the tree. The bracing system is adjustable to adjust the angle between the platforms and seat supports. A seat assembly is mounted to the seat supports and provides height adjustment to the user. The adjustability of the upper levelers, lower levelers, and bracing system help ensure that a horizontal platform can be achieved despite trees of varying configurations and lean angles.
