Abstract: A wall mounted headboard capable of storing and deploying a spring loaded table. The apparatus is comprised of a headboard pivotally connected to a first table section and assisted by a plurality of gas springs. The first table section is pivotally hinged to a second table section. The hinges between the table sections are hidden thus the table surface is free from anything disturbing a smooth surface. The weight of the second table section is offset by a plurality of torsion spring assemblies. The torsion spring assemblies are comprised of a torsion spring slidingly engaged in brackets mounted to each table section. The torsion spring assemblies allow a single user to move the second table section easily with minimal effort whether deploying or storing the table. The operation of storing or deploying the table can be performed from either side of the bed without walking around to the opposite side.
Abstract: A novel foot support device includes a first sidewall adapted to engage the lateral side of a first foot, a second sidewall adapted to engage the lateral side of a second foot, and a backwall adapted to engage both the plantar region of the first foot and the plantar region of the second foot. In a particular embodiment, the first sidewall includes an inclined interior surface, the second sidewall includes an inclined interior surface, and the backwall includes an inclined interior surface. In another particular embodiment, the foot support device includes sidewalls and a backwall that can flatten and pivot relative to one another, facilitating a collapsible foot support device.
Abstract: An interconnecting blanket assembly for a plurality of users comprising an upper blanket section which further comprises at least two inner blanket sections configured to form a double layered blanket assembly. The inner blanket sections are fixedly attached to the upper blanket section at the centerline of the inner blanket sections via a stitching pattern and a plurality of peripheral edges of the upper blanket section is removably attached to the inner blanket sections via a fastening mechanism to provide selective comfort for the users.
Abstract: A doughnut shaped multifunction cushioning device, made of foam or similar flexible resilient material, and having a doughnut hole contoured recess. During exercise, manual labor, or other human endeavor, one human body joint such as a knee or other bodily bony protuberance is placed inside the contoured recess and against the floor or other support surface. By such means the cushioning device provides one or more of the following beneficial effects: reduced risk of injury, increased comfort, body alignment, and slight traction.
Abstract: Embodiments of a side arm extension for a patient transport device comprise a patient transport device engagement member configured to engage a patient transport device frame or a support frame attached to the patient transport device frame, the side arm extension further comprising a rotatable and pivotable arm rest, and a side arm motion base connecting the arm rest to the patient transport device engagement member. The side arm motion base comprises, a rotational mechanism configured to rotate the arm rest, and a swing mechanism configured to pivot outwardly from the arm rest perpendicular to a perimeter of the patient transport device frame or patient transport device support frame.

Abstract: A wheel chair lifting device with a stationary platform, a movable lift assembly, four motorized scissors jacks, a foot stand platform, a battery power supply and a wireless lift controller and receiver. The four scissors jacks each placed on one corner of the stationary platform. The movable lift assembly is attached at each corner to the for scissors jacks. The movable assembly can of be lifted and lowered by the four scissors jacks. The scissors jacks are powered by the battery power supply. The motors of the lift jacks are activated by a wireless hand held controller. The base of the movable lift assembly is level with the stationary platform so that no ramp is required for rolling a wheel chair onto the lift assembly.
Abstract: Body support systems such as mattresses include breathing layers that define internal air flow guides and form part of the structure for pressure redistribution. At least one air flow unit is coupled for fluid communication with the breathing layers so that heat and moisture may be drawn away from an uppermost comfort layer or body-supporting layer, through the breathing layers, and exhausted out of the body support system. Alternatively, air may be directed through permeable portions of the layers of the body support system to the uppermost layer, particularly at the torso supporting region.
